Hey there! Just wondering if anyone has ever visited Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood, Ontario

I went there in August with my boyfriend and his family and we absolutely loved it. But, I spoke to someone in Windsor and she said that their experience wasn't very good. I was surprised because ours was great.

Just wondering what other peoples experiences have been. We're thinking about going back up at the end of November.

We try to go for a long weekend in Jan to go skiing we always stay inthe hotel and we love going my DW loves the Blue MOuntain pottery place. We have always had great experiances there.

Last time we were there, In August, the Blue Mountain Pottery Place was gone....break the news gently to your DW

Interesting she was there in July and teh factory was open LOL I have no problem with that because we allready have more than enough LOL.

Those that know me already understand I am a big fan of Intrawest. I was at Blue this year in August and in October. We stayed at the Grand Georgian both times and loved it! The weather was amazing both times and the Village was rocking in August!

I had a RCI request come through for Club Intrawest Tremblant next July, but had to decline because of DW vacation request was not granted.

I think our next purchase is going to be an Intrawest ownership, either a whole at Blue but more likely a 1/4 at Tremblant... that is how much we love Intrawest and the resorts we would be able to trade into!

P.S. - The Village of Imagingation has been started in Orlando!!!! However, they will all be whole ownerships (condo-hotels) and I am afraid to ask the price.

Well, I could be wrong. The place we tried to go to was on the main road by the information center...it was a building that said "Blue mountain Pottery" and it was empty

My boyfriends parents were really bummed to see that it was no longer open.

We were there for a week in June and stayed at The Georgian Bay Manor Resort and really enjoyed Blue Mountain and all the shops etc. but we too were so disappointed that we couldn't find anywhere that sold Blue Mountain pottery? :guilty:

I love the Village at Blue. We live about an hour away, and we go over 3 or 4 times a year (every season). I have eaten in most of the restaurants and they are great. It is a fun place to hang out.

Just made a reservation for November 18th at Blue Mountain for a 1-bedroom condo (village unit) for $99.00

Can't wait!

Anyone been to Casino Rama? We were thinking of driving there on Saturday to check it out.

I just got a call from the Cranberry resort about their timeshare offer but didn't even bother I just drive the 3 hours to blue mountain and stay in teh hotel for 4 days in the winter for skiing. Onemedic my family has a chalet at Tremblent it is beautiful there but again I only go there to ski not in the summer.

Sorry to disapoint you all but blue mountain pottery closed down about a year ago. The papers sited hard competition with cheaper products from China. Too bad. They were a ficture up here for almost a century.
Our home is only 20 minutes from Blue and just love the ski season here. We have seasons passes and find it a nice place to escape the winter blas.
For those who may be interested in the Georgian Bay area, it's very nice here all year long. We also live about 15 min walk to the beach in Wasaga and enjoy the summers on the beach, boating or taking bike trips on my Harley to places like Blue. The scenery is just wonderfull and there is always a place to stop and take in a coffee and a nice view, ( rolling farm lands, lake or the mountain). As you can see I can't say enough about our home. Come on up for a visit, You just may stay a while.

DVC RULES !

How did you book the reservation for $99? Who did you go thru?

I personally wouldn't travel from Collingwood to Orillia to go to Rama. Rama is nice, but there are others that are nicer. JMHO

They sent me an email on Thursday and I booked it over the phone directly with Blue Mountain reservations on Friday. It's good for weekends from 11/6-11/26 on studio, bachelor, and 1 bedroom village units.

Are there other casino's close to Collingwood that anyone would recommend? We love gambling and were going to drive to Casino Rama to check it out but if there are others that would be more worth it, I'd apprciate any info!!

Parents still live outside Collingwood so can speak to a few of these items.

Blue Mountain Pottery went bankrupt a while ago but there is a thriving secondary market in the Collingwood area that you can track down through the local paper under the heading "Garage Sales". Just go to any of the addresses listed for that week and you will bump into a dolphin or a heron. Apparently the locals are less enamoured with the green and blue glaze than the tourists.

Blue Mountain (and Collingwood) has undergone some incredible changes since Intrawest came to town...mostly for the better. There is a new conference centre going in right now that is going to make things even bigger, errr, I mean better...yeah that's the Intrawest line and that of town council. (Your mileage may vary.)

Casino Rama is about 65 minutes away and the closes casino to Collingwood. It is a full smoking casino with most every gae that you would want. If you want a non smoking casino then you need to drive to Niagara Falls for one of their two casinos both of which have smoking and non smoking sections. Unfortunately, none of tese casinos have clearly labelled winning and losing sections so you are onyour own for that.

Also, keep in mind that Blue can be very by or very dead dependi on when you are here and what you came to do. If you are wanting to ski then choose Winter.

Hope that helps....
