Just reading about the Nassau excursions. Has anyone done the Blue Lagoon Beach Day? Thoughts?

Also, I have read some posts about people booking a hotel room at the Comfort Suites and being able to have access to Atlantis for the day. WE are a family of 5 -- and it sounds like you can only do 4 to a room? Will they let you buy an additional wrist band for the 5th person?

We did the Blue Lagoon Beach day on our 4-day Wonder cruise on June 21st. Our kids (ages 9 and 5) enjoyed it, but the trip there tested their endurance and patience. You take a 10-minute walk from the ship to the dock, then you board a very crowded ferry (which had no live band for our trip) with not enough seating, cruise 15 minutes to Atlantis, stop there for 10 minutes, then cruise another 25 minutes to Blue Lagoon. That got us to the beach at around 11:00 a.m.

The beach was very nice but fairly crowded. The lunch buffet was OK but the only drink included was sweet fruit punch. We ended up buying diet sodas from the bar. We had early dining so we took the 2:00 ferry back (there is also a 4:00 ferry) so we were only on the island for 3 hours.

I'm glad we took the trip because it was our first time on Nassau, but I would not do it again. Too much time invested for too little fun, IMO. Next time we'll get a day room at Atlantis.

I don't know anything about Comfort Suites, but I have heard about the access to Atlantis and that sounds like a good idea to me, especially for kids.

We stayed on ship this time and had a great time. The pool had very few people and it was very relaxeing. You can go to the Atlantis but overall Nassau is not all that great.
