Blue Goose Trip

I hope that any "newbies" keeping track of this thread, will come on over and join us on the chat thread. That's where most of the action is right now and also a great place to get to know the ladies going on the trip, before you meet them. :)

Beth, Is there anyway the original chat thread could be either condensed or made into another new thread. There are so many pages on there its daunting for the newbies to look at and it takes forever to load someimtes ;)
Just a suggestion :goodvibes

Hi there Bridget! I don't know how it could really be condensed but I promise you that over there is mostly just chit-chat, so if you ever want to visit just go to the last page and jump right in.
You do not need to muddle through the whole thing! :rotfl:

And if anything important is discussed in regards to the trip, it will be posted here.
Right now it's a bit too early to make any real plans for November. The main thing people are working on now is getting the time off from work, making a reservation, and making child care arrangements. :thumbsup2

For anyone interested in going to Sea World this November:

I got my Entertainment Book today. (you know those books with all the coupons in it?) Well, it has a coupon for Sea World. You can save $5 on admission to SW, good for up to 6 admissions during one park visit. The only drawback is you have to purchase at the ticket window. But if anyone was still interested, at least we can say $5. Plus there are coupons for Universal that I'd be willing to give to anyone who wants to go to Universal.

Bump....:surfweb:

I was thinking of doing a big dinner to meet everyone at the start of the trip. For those we went last year, kind of like the one we had at Whispering Canyon Cafe.
That was fun.

Maybe on Friday night since everyone will be there by then. I know everyone will have different plans on other days, but I thought we could at least plan one large official dinner that everyone could attend.

Table for 45 please......:rolleyes1 ;)

:lmao:

Don't you remember any ressies over 15-20 people, we hardly got to got to talk to anyone besides the people at your table.:rotfl:

I say rent the Wedding Pavilion and have DISBOARDS sponsor the event.:thumbsup2

I will suggest that Friday night is a good time to go to PI, because those of us with annual passes there can bring in a guest for free.

That's why we have to choose a loud and obnoxious restaurant like WCC so we can table hop, and throw things at each other. Not someplace stuffy like Park Fare.

Cool, if we are all together for a dinner then we can head over to PI as a group. Kind of like last time. I think that worked out well. :)

This will not work if we have people on the dining plan, but what about House of Blues for dinner? It's pretty raucous. DVC members get a discount. I am not sure how many people can ride on the discount though.

If we do have people on the dining plan I would suggest that we meet for dinner at .... Earl of Sandwich. That will take care of us having to make reservations for a lot of people. Raglan Road is pretty noisy and does take the dining plan. And it's right on PI. But a big honking reservation will be needed.

AP also gets a discount, only 10% though. And I probably should have remembered that when we were there last month. Sorry about that.

Well, I do want to eat at House of Blues at some point. And as for the DP, I think most people are NOT getting it this time. :confused3

One question, is HOB really loud like say Hard Rock? I want a fun place where we can be loud but not someplace where you can't hear yourself talk let alone anyone else, kwim?

Also while I know we can't fit all of us at one table, I don't want a dozen small 5 person tables either. Some restaurants have seperate banquet rooms, does HOB?:confused3

I will leave the choice of restaurant up to those who know the various ones better than I.

I think it's a good idea to have one large gathering especially with so many new ones.

All I ask is for someplace that can accomodate us with reasonable comfort. And is a fun place without being too terribly loud.

Okay, that's your mission everyone. Let me know..... ;)

Another idea that the large group did last year that was staying at the POP was have a pool meets. Which they had a few the whole time they were there.
Majority of everyone is staying at the POP.
The dinners of 30 people were far from personal. And getting the bill resolved properly if we aren't on the dining plan will be a joke.:rotfl:

I think we all learned that dinners of 8 -10 people were much more manegeable and personel.

This is why I suggested a mass dinner at the Earl of Sandwich. People like it, it's near PI, we can have folks grab tables near each other, and everybody settles their own bill.

But if it has to be a sitdown restaurant I will *gulp* do the research into what they'll do for a big group. I believe I would attempt to look into HOB, Raglan Road, and maybe Puck's.

Watch me not even go to dinner because there is some food and wine festival event that night. I'm pretty certain I will be at one on Thursday the 1st.

Well, I'm open to all ideas and suggestions. If it's at the pool, what the heck do you do? There's nothing to eat and not everyone in the group drinks. And is there enough seating? :confused3

And I didn't make it to Earl's last time, (Tammy brought me food back to the room) so I don't know what the seating is like. Would there be enough for so many?

And if we were in a sit down place I am sure they'd assign more than one waiter for so many people so the bill shouldn't be too much of a hassle. :rolleyes1 I think at WCC we had 3 different ones working with us.

Like I said, it's up to the group as a whole. I just thought it would be fun. :confused3

I say we all just meet in Muffy's room. :teeth:

I agree with you on this. Maybe a meet and greet, with BYOB/beverage of choice/beverage from the pool bar, at the Pop pool area one night would be good. :confused3

Now THAT is the best idea I have heard so far! :thumbsup2

I don't think I will make it to a pool meet at Pop since I am the one who isn't staying there:rotfl:

I love the idea of a pool meet.

It doesn't have to be around a meal time.

The best times that I had on the last trip was just hanging out sitting around by the pool and talking. Like what we do on the chat thread.:thumbsup2

Maybe we should just skip it then. A pool meet seems kind of anti-climatic after we've all seen each other already.

I'm not sure everyone will want to stand around talking. Especially the newbies who are on their own for the first time. lol
I think they'd rather be doing something.

Of course, that's only a guess on my part. :confused3

I'll just drop it for now. It's not a big deal. We don't have to do anything. ;)
