Blue Bell Ice Cream

My Blue Bell favorites are:

Fudge Brownie Nut
Banana Pudding
Vanilla Bean

I went to the store today and walked over to the ice cream isle, looking for my Blue Bell section. When I saw the price I almost needed medical attention. I thought, "Well, I can sell a kidney and get a 1/2 gallon . . . or wait until it goes on sale". (I opted for the "sale" idea ;) )

Years ago, when I was working for Outback, the GM told me that all Outbacks use Blue Bell Vanilla.

My favorites are the vanilla, dutch chocolate, the anniversary cake and pistachio almond. I usually wait for the B1G1 sales, though.

Now Publix makes me very happy every December-they carry Barnie's Santa's White Christmas ice cream.

It's my favorite Barnie's coffee. It has vanilla, coconut (but I don't really notice that) and caramel. It's Barnie's most popular flavor. (I think they've got a few stores in Bradenton, too)

We went on the Blue Bell Creamery tour 2 years ago on our way home from Austin. They were making a new flavor and we got to watch how they made it. The new flavor and my absolute favorite is cantelope & cream.mmmmmmmmmmm.
Blue Bell, the best ice cream in the country.

I just bought some today. Have not tried it though. I bought Banana Pudding (because DH loves BP and tomorow is his b-day) and I bought the mint chocolate chiip (because that is my and DD's fav.)

I'm hoping it is as good as the mint chocolate chip at the Dolphin in WDW. I love their ice cream the best on property!!

BYW, I only decided to try these because of this thread. I saw the $$ and almost backed out but I love ice cream.

I don't think we get Blue Bell here but my Mom (in Arkansas) sometimes has a blackberry cobbler ice cream that I believe is Blue Bell and it is yummy! I didn't realize they had so many other great flavors.

At first I thought you were talking about Blue Bunny, which I don't care for. Never had Blue Bell....I don't think it's sold in this area.

I grew up on the stuff. I like Moo-lineum Crunch the most.

I WILL say that I got hooked on Creamy Creations from HEB and think they are just as good... but they are even harder to find!

Brenda, let us know how your family liked it. I grew up on the stuff, so to me there is no other ice cream besides Blue Bell.

I can't wait .... it should be out soon :cool1: Its my absolute favorite flavor. My DH is a die hard Homemade Vanilla lover but that is too boring for me. I also LOVE Carmel Sundae Crunch. OMG that stuff is addicting.

It's the ice cream the Frederick Outback uses in all their desserts. Trust me, I had to prepare more than a couple of them!

What's that like?

It's got a bunch of stuff in it.

Vanilla ice cream with chunks of dark chocolate, caramel, pecans, almonds, walnuts... all the good stuff!

I think they brought it out just for the millenium and it was such a hit that it's stuck around.

Yummy....I'll have to try that one when we are visiting TX this summer!

My old favorite is Moo-llennium Crunch, but really I love them all.

We used to live in TX then moved here, Doha Qatar, in the middle east. Amazingly, the one store that stocks American foods stocks Blue Bell!!! So we happily paid the $12 a carton just to have some. Unfortunately, it doesn't travel well and is ALWAYS full of ice crystals. It must melt and refreeze along the way. So we do not waste our money to be disappointed. But when we visit TX every summer my friends always expect me to bring the dessert and its always Blue Bell!!!

Have not tried the mint CC yet and only had 1 bite of the banana pudding because we went out for b-day dinner and had dessert there. Came home, could not wait to taste o I opened it up and DH and I both had a bite. He said "Wow! That taste like frozen banana pudding. How do they do that?!!" It was true! It was an amazing flavor.

We were always die hard Mayfield's fans. However, their cost has gone way up and the package size has come down so we'd been getting Breyer's (which used to be the most expensive around here but no more). I can't wait to try the MCC. I'll post again when I try it too.

I think we are converts! LOL

Anyone ever try their Light or Sugar free?

Nah... if I'm going to eat ice cream I go for the good stuff. However, the BB sherberts which are lower calorie and fat content are AWESOME. The lime and orange are my fav's.
