We celebrated my daughters birthday at this restaurant last week.

I went there based on the DIS. All I knew is that I was supposed to request a water view. I couldn't figure out how you could see the water from the restaurant. Well I found out when I was seated by the water. Nice touch.

The food was pretty good but it's a little hard to see your food in the dark.

I ordered the Birthday bucket for my 22 year old who loves Disney. :) The server brough out the bucket with a little cake and several servers sang Happy Birthday. She was surprised that I managed to pull it off without her knowing.

I would recommend eating at this restaurant.

I'm glad you had a good time!! I LOVE the Blue Bayou. After going to DL all my life, I didn't experience BB until my 16th birthday. I was there with my mom and my aunt and we were able to get a water view. It definitely was a real Disney moment! I will never forget it. I just love the atmosphere of it, it's really a lot of fun, and something I think every Disney fan should try at least once. ::yes::

P.S. Their Monte Cristo sandwich is fantastic!!!! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! :earboy2:

My daughter had the Monte Cristo for lunch. Every server I saw walking by had them on their platters.

I haven't been to disneyland in along time but is this the resturant thatis in the pirates of the caribbean?, i loved that resturant and i want to go there this summer when i go and i couldn't find it on the disneyland website.

I haven't eaten at this restaurant in over 8 years, but will be eating there next weekend. :teeth: Just wondering, how many tables are actually next to the water? I mean, what are the chances, really, of getting a water view?? TIA!

I would make a Priority Seating right when you arrive at the park and let them know you want a water seat. Then when you check in for your PS, be sure to let them know that you would like a water seat. There are a good amount of tables by the water, I would say at least 10. I've never not had a water seat when I have requested one. Sometimes I just had to wait a little longer for one to open up. Good luck! I hope you have a good time! :earsgirl:

I would make your PS in advance of your visit. The PS doesn't guarantee a water side table, but at least you have a table. We were there in June, made the PS weeks ahead of time, stopped by about 45 mins prior just to see if we could be seated early and they said they weren't even accepting any more people on the waiting list. Came back about 15 mins prior and the place was mobbed! We asked for a water side table, were told it might be up to another 30 mins but were seated in less than 10. It was worth it! My son still talks about it and said we need to make it a DL tradition!

Tradition for us to go every trip....Next trip for us will be week of Thanksgiving. We made a PS for Friday at lunch. It seems if you make the first reservation of the day (11:30) you will usually get to sit by the water. My family loves the pork tenderloin. I usually go for the Monte Cristo though. Also love the Mardi Gras salad. See now I am hungry for the Blue Bayou. Not too much longer until we are there.:D

It's been almost a month since I've had one!

That decides it: I'm going to BB for lunch today!!! :)

I love Blue Bayou, love love love it!!

From what I've experienced and been told, if you make your lunch ressie for one of the earliest ones, get there at least(AT LEAST)15 mins prior to your ressie to request a water table you're good to go. That's what we do.

We're going back Veteran's Day Weekend(I just got back, went down Oct. 1st)for my little one's 6th birthday. We're doing a triple party with friends at Goofy's followed by Build a Bear(we all have kids with bdays that week). He's asked to eat at the "Pirates of the Carribeeb" restaurant on his bday proper! LOL! As soon as my oldest heard that he said "I'm so getting a monte crisco again!!" They love it too!

I have a flash and took pictures at Blue Bayou with my daughter in them. Where the flash works it is bright but if you are trying to take a picture by the water it turns out very dark.

Curse those Imagineers! It's always night time in there! Kinda like the Mexico Pavillion in Epcot...only w/o the mariachi band/menudo, and WITH the blessed deep fried heart attack on egg bread!
