Would it be worth it to eat a dinner @ the Blue Bayou with teens? Also how is storyteller's cafe or The Plaza? Do I need reservations for these? I know to mk reserves for BB tho. If I chose storyteller C. How does that work not being a hotel guest? One more ?, :) how does the plaza work if ur not doing a character meal?

The Plaza Inn is counter service for lunch and dinner. They have fabulous chicken! No reservation needed. I would make a reservation for Storytellers, but I'm not sure if it's needed.

We're doing dinner at the BB with both kids -- 9 & 14. They are both looking very forward to it!!

You can call and make reservations for sit down restaurants. Not positive about the Plaza Inn other than the character breakfast but you can definitely make them for Storytellers.

We took daughter and her BF there 3 or 4 times. Started going to BB at age 9 or 10. Last visit there was when she was 18 and in her senior year doing the musical study at DL with her orchestra. She comes from a small school, that was blessed with a most wonderful orhcestra teacher. His kids took 3 gold medals three times. Oh I am just being a proud momma. Sorry back to the question. I would think your kids woule enjoy the experience. I would request a water side table. It is great fun to watch the boats float by. Yes I am one of those crazy people that will wave at the people in the boats. It is a bit spendy so I would check out the menu here on the Dis to make sure your kids are into the food being offered. Even if the kids decide to eat some where else you can eat there alond and not feel funny. Have a good time.

Thank you all for your imput. Pirates has always been my fav ride and have always wanted to eat @ BB.

I think your teens would probably enjoy Blue Bayou if they like the Pirates ride, unique experiences, and/or any of the food on the menu. You will want to make a reservation and check in early. Waterside is the best choice, but be prepared to wait a bit longer for one of those tables.

Plaza Inn offers reservations only for the character meal in the morning. The rest of the day the place is buffeteria style counter service, no reservations required or available. The fried chicken is tasty, and the portions are large. I would recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

Storyteller's Cafe has a nice ambiance and tasty food. It is a table service restaurant, and you can make a reservation for any meal. Being a guest at the hotel is not required. Characters are only present for breakfast.

Yes! Take them! I started taking our kids to BB around that age and they still make a point of returning when they travel on their own. Something to think about is a late lunch or early dinner. If you can get a reservation just before the switch to the dinner menu, prices are less.

Do request a waterside table. It might take a few extra minutes but so worth it. There's something special about watching the boats, listening to the sounds of the ride and, yes, waving. I even think it smells better by the water.

We have reservations with our 4 year old for lunch in December. :thumbsup2 Go and enjoy yourselves!

..our first trip and have gone a few times since...at least once a trip.
On our first trip our kids were 6, 8 and 10.

It is a must do now for our kids. So much so that our kids are willing to wait for a water side table. 0n our last visit this was about 45. Minutes.

For the prices they charge we feel a large part of the value is sitting by the water.

My kids love BB, we've been going there since they were 6 and 9, they are now 12 and 16.
I've been able to walk into ST without a reservation but I've also been told the wait would be 90 minutes.
I always recommend a reservation, you make them by phone or by email at dine@disneyland.com
