On our last family trip we were seated fairly close to the water but the waiter said we could not be seated at any of the tables right on the water because we had a party of 5. Now DH and I will be going in August just the 2 of us. I know to make the first seating for lunch for the best chance at one of those tables. Does anyone know, will they seat parties of 2 at any of the tables right on the water?

DW and I wnet last year and got hte first seating time. We were second in line to check in and I requested a seat by the water. I also put in that request when I made the reservations. Got seated right by the water.

My bf and I went on our recent trip and were seated waterside with no problems. It was just the two of us. :)

There are 6 of us and have been waterside except for a time back in 97. There were a number of (couples only) seated next to the water. Have fun.

We have a PS for a table for 8 for dessert. We can't get a waterside table b/c of the group #???

Can you tell us what time the first seating is?

BB doesn't officially open until 11:30 and the earliest PS we were able to make was for 11:40, but we made the PS about 5 days later than we could have. We got there at about 11:20 and had to wait in the lobby for about 3 minutes before we were seated by the water. There were people already seated when we arrived, so BB opened early that day. However, there were still many waterside tables available. If you do a walk-in right when BB opens, you may have to wait a bit. We heard that the walk-in wait was about 35 minutes when we were there. We went on a Tuesday, if that makes any difference. Oh, and even though we only went for dessert, our waiter was wonderful. Just had to add that. :goodvibes

I've found it a lot easier in my experience to get a waterside table when it's just 2, and have never had a problem getting the table, even without a "first seating" PS. On our trip this past March we had a dinner PS and barely waited 5 minutes for a waterside table.

We have never been able to get waterside with a larger group - I've tried & tried! My dd & I were just there a few weeks ago and had a great waterside table for lunch, our PS was for 11:30 and we checked in at 11:20. It was great - they weren't super busy yet and our server was really good, very attentive and spent a lot more time on us than usual.

I love BB for the ambience, but often the service and food aren't great. It's never bad, just often "ok". This last time tho the service was top notch and food very, very good!

That Friday that we were there all the waterside tables were groups of 2 or 3, no groups larger than 3 at any waterside table, the whole time we were there.

We've eaten at Blue Bayou several times usually getting the first seating PS for lunch. We've been able to snag water side tables the last few times and we are a family of 4. I thought the table size was perfect for my family. We tried getting a ps once for 7 and were unable to get the first ps of the day(probably due to our our party size). We ended sitting close to the entrance.

It's been two years since we've been back to DL and we're considering not booking BB since prices have gone up :(. We'll probably do Cafe Orleans instead.

First seating is 11:30 am, get there about 15 min. early and make your request for waterside, that will be your best bet to get it.

turned over 3 times while we were there...two of the three parties were couples! The CM who seated us mentioned to me that it pays to plan in advance. I'd booked on the first day they were taking ARs for the day we wanted to eat there. We were given waterside seating without asking!

Some other news...I ordered one entree...the Monte Cristo...and the three of us shared it. They didn't charge me any extra! I explained that we were really there for the ice cream boats. The server was VERY nice about this...said it made total sense to share a meal if you know your little ones really want the dessert.

I can't say enough good about the Blue Bayou. Yes, the price is insane, but the service and food was wonderful!

My suggestion would be that, if you have a large group and want waterside, book two tables! I'm sure if you explained that you want to be next to each other they'd accommodate you!

First seating at 11:30 has only 13 slots and they're all waterside (makes it easier on the staff so that people aren't trying to claw each other's eyes out trying to get the waterside table because they're all the first reservations of the day). So if you have an 11:30 am seating, you're guaranteed a waterside table.

We're going to DL in late Sept / early Oct, and I plan to make reservations at BB. But we'd really rather go for dinner; esp since lunch prices are no cheaper. We like a hit-n-run lunch (CS) and longer dinner.

So, considering it should be a slow season, will we have a problem getting a water side table? Any strategies to do so? We'll probably ask for 7 PM or so; though I haven't really thought through the scheduling yet (probably mid-week, so probably no Fantasmic or parades to schedule around).

We ate at BB in April spring break waterside at a 6 top table 2 on each side 1 on each end. We got there 45 minutes early at the first dinner check in 4 pm
They never batted an eye regarding our party size. We have regularly eaten waterside when DH was alive 7 of us ( one in highchair ) at a 6 top table.
I think you need to get there early so they have time to arrange the tables when people exit to accomadate your party. :)
