Blue Bayou vs. Cafe Orleans - KEEPSAKE?

No contest. I have been going to BB for years now have been to Cafe Orleans twice with bad service.

We did received a little pewter Nightmare Before Christmas Keepsake. They said something about having a newx one every week? Does anyone know anything about this?

Ok, I finally had a minute to look at it. it says Highland Mint on the package... made in china Haunted Mansion Holiday and is zero's house...

Does anyone have any more information about these? Did they give it to us because of the bad service or do they hand them out to everyone? We just wanted to get out of there and didn't take time to get more info.

We got one back in October. The CM said that you get one if you spend at least $35.

We have gotten two now. We got one at Cafe Orleans and one at the French Market.

It's not hard to hit $35 there and I didn't get anything like this when I went during the beginning of Halloween season.

We were there for Thanksgiving and didn't hear about this. I think our Cafe Oleans tab topped off at $50.

First week I was there they had run out of the ornament. It wasn't mentioned to us, but I asked because I remembered from last year, and was told to come back with my receipt a couple of days later. I noticed that it really depends on the CM who's serving you. Sometimes they'll just give it to you, but mainly you have to ask.

I also believe these are French Market and Cafe Orleans only. I got the Nightmare Before Christmas spoons last year (Since it's one per $35 spent I was able to ask for a second one since our two tables was well over $70. I didn't push my luck asking for more, but two of our group wanted them.)

The year before were Nightmare Before Christmas coins. I believe they start the promo when HM has the change-over to Nightmare and runs for several weeks. I believe it's either 12 or 16 weeks or something because the promo item changes every week and the packaging says something like "4 of 12" or whatever it is. I'll have to dig them out to make sure.

What were the keepsakes this year? All I saw was "Zero's house" so not sure if that's a tree ornament or a little figure, etc. Thanks. I wasn't able to make it down this year. Next year though!!

Last year it was spoons. 13 different spoons, one released each week for 13 weeks at French Market and Cafe Orleans when you spent $35 or more all at once.

This year it was Halloweentown Pewter Figurines. The first one was available starting September 26, 2010.
