Blue Bayou vs Aladdin's Oasis for Main Street Electrical?

Hello fellow Disney people!

We went to DLR last June and did the Blue Bayou dining package for Paint the Night. At that time, you were chased away and not allowed to form a line to enter seating area until 30 minutes before parade. We are headed back to the parks in March and I was thinking about doing one of these packages for Main Street Electrical.

However, I heard that they are now allowing people to line up ahead up to 1.5 hours before parade start time (especially the Aladdin's Oasis viewing spot?). Has anyone done one of these packages recently to give me the scoop? I would hate to spend the extra money and still end up waiting hours to see the parade.

Thanks for the help,
Cristin

My son and I were in Disneyland on Thurs, Feb 2. I reserved us Aladdin's Oasis dining for MESP. I'm happy I did! I believe the tickets said to arrive at 6:45 pm but I read here to arrive earlier. We started looking about 6:15 for the line-up spot. It was already open and people inside. We got great spots no problem. Right up against the rope at the top of the 1st set of steps. It seemed like a large area, lots of room. It never got crowded and the people in front of the rope all remained seated on the curb, ground in front and steps in front. Great viewing area!

Huh... I just tried to insert a photo to show you my experience but it said file too big... sorry.
