I made reservations weeks ago for a party of 8 at the Blue Bayou the day before Thanksgiving. We had 5:00 reservations, asked to be as close to the ride as possible, etc.

We called yesterday to see if it would be at all possible to change it to 6:30 pm, because my work schedule was changed and I was getting out later (we live in Orange County).

The person I spoke to on the reservation line then tells me that the reservation is already at 6:30. And- it is only for a party of 4. They don't think they will be able to adjust it this close to the date.

At the very least, thank goodness I called. But at the same time, what will the other 4 people do???

Has anyone else had this happen to them?
 
Sorry to hear about that, I have never had problems with Priority Seatings. I did just call and verify the 8 PS I have made for our trip at Christmas and they were all correct.
 
On our trip in 2001, I called exactly 30 days prior to make reservations for Goofy's Kitchen. It was to be a major highlight of our trip...in fact I was discouraging my kids from any long lines to see characters because I KNEW we'd get to see plenty at GK. On the day of, it was HOT and we traveled all the way to the Disneyland Hotel shortly before our reservation time. It was quite a trek with two little ones, strollers, bags, etc. When we got there we were tired, hot, but SO, SO excited...only to find the restaurant closed. I immediately called Disney Dining to find out what was going on. After a long confused chat (with tired, hungry kids restless in the background), a rep finally told me that they had adjusted the restaurant's hours and failed to call me. Needless to say, we had been rescheduled two hours earlier but of course, didn't know that! My kids started bawling. I was so mad I was sobbing, it was awful. And only a meek, lame apology from DD. It REALLY ruined an otherwise great day. And we lost over 1.5 hours of primo park time over the incident.

We're going again next month and again I made GK reservations. I'll be confirming immeditately before we leave, and come to think of it, I'd better call now too just in case. I have been very disappointed in what I've experienced and what others have said about Disney Dining customer service.
 
That would be even worse. Did they give you any discounts, etc? I would hope so!

Honestly I would expect some sort of compensation for all that mess. I would have been very upset too!
 
audrabolster, if I were you I would call back again to have them double check your reservation. Once I made multiple reservations and had made them using 2 different phone numbers so they did not all show up under the same list. Any chance you might have done that? Or, perhaps they gave you info on another person's reservation by accident.
If none of these are the case, perhaps you get can another guest servives person who will make an extra effort to correct the situation. I have called multiple times on different subjects only to be given different responses by different people so sometimes it just depends on who you talk to and possibly what soft of day they are having. Good luck!

It is unfortunate when human error happens but hopefully it won't ruin your entire trip.
 
I would call back and speak to someone else too. Maybe they did the reservations for 4 and 4? Being two separate ones? Still don't know why they had the time wrong though. That is really frustrating!
 
As far as our incident, absolutely no attempt was made to try to make things right. The verbal apology we caught wasn't even very sympathetic.

We had a similar occurance. We scheduled the "Happiest Birthday On Earth" party at the Plaza Inn for our daughters 4th birthday. We showed up 10 minuted before the scheudled time and were told, "Sorry we don't do that at this time of day" despite the fact that I had called, TWICE to confirm!! We were compensated with warm punch and a cupcake size single serving cake for the 9 of us (our family of 5, plus my parents and in-laws). That was almost 4 years ago and I still get furious every time I think about it. WHen I complained all I got was an "We're sorry" with no explanation on why they didn't bother to call to say the schedule changed.
