ok kiddos, heres our blue bayou report form 12/26 :-)

we got the waterfront seating, they said they fill those up 1st when they open so thats a good tip :-) (11 am opening time).

we booked a mickey celebration ear cake (this was sooo good) so that helped us get seats too, they never say no to the waterfront seat when u have a mickey celebration cake lol :-)

anywhooo, i wanted to try something new, so i ordered the prime rib ($50) and it was pretty fatty one. in retrospect i would say order the filet and lobster instead, as thatll be a much better plate. the smashed taters were ok and the veggies were sprouts (i love these) and some other items....... but yah i would stay away from this seasonal dish, and order something else.

i just had the monte cristo at cafe orleans on xmas, so i didnt order that one at blue bayou :-)

my son ordered the citrus chicken, and it seems they are precutting the chicken to come without bones now.

we had the chicken at cafe orleans, and we just noticed that it all looks precut to preclude bones, but theres still some bones in there though.......

but yah definately a change in the plates at cafe orleans and blue bayou for the chicken meals :-) we noticed as we always get those.

still no bread!!!

it looks like the bread blue bayou fiasco may be a permanent change indeed..... tooo no bread EVER !!! :-)

i immensly enjoyed the hurricane drink, although i couldnt taste any alcohol hmmm very skimp,y on the alcohol $16, but its a very good drink :-) i wanted a 2nd one, limit 2. didnt give me any sort of buzz or warmth.... hmmmm wheres the alcohol? hmmmm lol......... still good :-) tastes great

the blue bayou lemmonades with glow cubes are always a must and they refilled for free (without asking)......

so total bill for 2 plates and the micket cake and 2 lemmonades and 1 hurricane

+ 30 tip

$205 out the door :-)

for some reason they gave me a pen that didnt work and i couldnt do the tip, but i brought my own pen and slapped on a 30 dollar tip.

i told the guy his pen didnt work and i had to use my own and he just walked away......... i dont think he understood me?? hmmm

but i looked on my bank today and didnt charge for the tip yet lol soooo hmmm maybe they dont want it?? i dunno.

2 years ago on our last visit he told us when deliverying the bill "dont break the bank!!!".... sooo not sure if the blue bayou poepole want tips or not hahhahaha just weird to say that hahahahha. ????

anywhoo, sorry these pics suck but are low light......... but gives you an idea what you get.

yes smaller portions but good tastes.

my prime rib was still mooing a bit hahahha.

normally i order "medium"

i told the guy "medium" and he said "medium rare?"
and then i said thats ok....

in retrospect, medium is what i always order..

not sure why he asked "medium rare?"

he may not have known "medium" is a setting....

hmmm guess i wasnt a good talker today lol.......

Enjoyed your report :). I went recently (Dec 15) with my sister. We had missed our reservation the day before due to extreme weather and when we walked up to the host to let them know why we didn't show, they asked if we wanted to dine right then! We said yes and within a few minutes we were escorted to a waterside table. Very nice.

I'm with you on the Hurricanes! VERY delicious but light on the alcohol. I did feel it a little bit, I think, but hard to tell whether it was the drink or just the excitement of the surprise meal at BB. We came close to ordering a second round but we decided against the extra cost and calories, LOL.

I usually opt for the filet and lobster tail but we went in not having expected to be dining there and weren't super hungry, so we shared the MC which was in 3 pieces. I was expecting 2 as I'd read that they were now half the size they were previously. They probably were half the size but they cut it into 3 pieces. Honestly, it was more than enough for us to share and still be too full to finish. Our side was salad and it was really good. You're right, no bread for us, either. That just seems like a strange thing to cut, but I do remember people on Pirates always asking diners to throw them a roll and sometimes they did, so maybe that has something to do with it?

Thanks for your report!

Prime rib? Dang, we asked about it when we were there in November and they weren't serving it. We really enjoyed it the last time we had it there (probably October of 2019).
