Blue Bayou Opinions?

I really liked Blue Bayou when we ate there. Ever since I was a kid I always saw the restaurant as we floated by on Pirates of the Caribbean and I always said to myself, "someday I'll eat there".

Fast forward 20 years and I finally made reservations and wasn't let down one bit. Maybe it was due to the fact that I really wasn't there for the food but for the ambiance. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would eat there again in a heartbeat.

The only thing I would do different is request a waterside table.

I think I am going to keep my reservation. As much as I would like to see World of Color, this dessert would have much more meaning to my mom and I. And hopefully, we'll be making a trip next summer, and we'll be able to see WOC!

I am very interested in the Carthay Circle Lounge, hopefully I'll be able to make that happen too. If there are no reservation, is it really difficult to get a table? What is the best time to go? Is it generally a long wait?

For the lounge seating, there are no reservations and there are clusters of chairs around tables. When I was there in July, there wasn't a long line or anything for the lounge. This was around 2pm.

I don't think most people knew what Carthay was and that you could eat in the lounge without a reservation. They don't really advertise it.

That's awesome to hear. I'm excited to check it out :goodvibes

However, I have heard from others on different forums, that it was very crowded and noisy in the Lounge, with lots of kids running around. Not what I am looking for at all. Is this what you found when you went?

Absolutely NOT! OMG it was so nice in there, cool, quiet, calm and relaxing. LOVED it!! We walked right in and sat down, this was at about 1-2 on a weekend day and it was perfect. It also was not like that when DD16 and I ate there, we barely sat down and it was time to go upstairs to be seated. :) I'm sure it can be very noisy and loud and have kids running around but that was not what I experienced either time.

That's a relief to hear! I think we will do the lounge Friday afternoon then, before we head to the hotel for a short break. And then Halloween party, yay! :cool1:

Wow, not my experience at all. There were small groups conversing, but it was not noisy when I was there. It was very cool and relaxing. :)
