Blue Bayou Menu Prices

The plate sharing fee was $4 last month. Also, we did NOT get 2 soups or salads. We were told that one person would get a soup OR a salad. The 2 sides had to be the same between the plates and they were split between the two plates, so they were quite small. So, for the $4, you are only getting them to divide it between two plates. Next time we'll order an appetizer for one person and an entree for the other.

Thats a great idea! I was going to try to split a monte cristo with my 12 yr old next month, but I think I like the idea of one of us getting an appetizer and sharing both even better. Thanks!

soooo if one person goes in and orders say the monte cristo and one person orders a dessert, and if they ask if theres a sharing fee and you say no, but you split it anyways on one plate, what are they going to do? LOL, take your fork and poke you outa the eaterie?

Does anyone know if they do "Birthday Buckets" at BB?

They did 3 years ago for my dd's birthday.

And for grumpymakesmehappy, it's much like El Rio del Tiempo in Mexico at Epcot, except way cooler because it's PotC. It's also darker, and there are hanging paper lanterns strung throughout the restaurant. For ambiance, it's easily my favorite DL or WDW restaurant. Expensive, and you do need a reservation, but a not to be missed, IMHO.

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:
I don't mind paying the fee if they actually have to dish it up differently, etc. But next time when I order the appetizer & DH gets the Monte Cristo, they'd better not charge us the fee. Why do they anyway? Sure, the server should get a little extra, but I'd much rather up his tip than pay the fee. If they try to charge the fee, some of it (unfortunately) may be coming out of the tip.

When you split each person (should) get the salad and sides (smaller portion of course). But it also takes more to plate seperately, wash two plates etc.

We just asked our waiter if we each got a salad if we split, he said if we each wanted one, we could each have one. We each got a nice salad and a decent serving of potatoes and one large white asparagas. I looked for an extra charge for the salad, and the only charge was the split fee. I guess it is who you get, but I would always ask.

I was wondering the same thing Lynn. Since you will be there first, will you let me know when you get back if we haven't gotten an answer by then??

My guess is yes even if you are sharing with a child they will charge you the fee. It is the same work for them to split weather then party is a child or an adult.

How about one entree and one dessert for two people. Would that work?

We ate there last time and I wanted to try the monte cristo since people rave about it....but... even though I'm not the healthiest eater, my guilt took hold of me and I got something else. :rotfl: Oh well.

They told us we could take the menus with us as POTC souveniers. haha...so we did (you didn't have to tell us twice!)

Curious, how much is the sharing fee? I've never encountered this at a restaurant before,
We kept a souvenir menu from last month. It says, "Split Plate Charge $4.00."
