I was trying to find the current prices for BB for lunch. Specifically the Monte Cristo. One menu I saw said $11.99, one $12.99 and one $18.99. Anyone been there recently and had this? Do you know what the actual prices are? Thanks.

Is there a difference between the Monte Cristo's at Blue Bayou and Cafe Orleans besides the price?

I am by far a cheap skate but I wouldn't eat lunch there, those prices are sky high, I'll probably do dinner and split it, between all the junk food I'll also be eating that will work for me. :santa:

Same Monte Cristo at both restaurants. Cafe Orleans also offers a three cheese Monte Cristo that is vegetarian friendly.

The Monte Cristo was $14.99 before they redid the menu at the Blue Bayou. It is now $18.99, but you do get more for your money. You now get a soup or a salad AND two sides along with the Monte Cristo. It is large enough to share.

I love the atmosphere there and the last few times I have gone I haven't been able to get in for lunch and the MC wasn't offered at dinner. It will be our one big splurge. We were going to do Ariel's Grotto one day too, but, found their prices high and the food not sounding as appetizing.

Is it just me or does anyone else think it's ridiculous that they charge a "sharing" fee. That has never happened to me anywhere else. :furious:

I completely agree. They did not used to do this. Does anyone know how strict they are with this fee? If my DD shares with me, will they charge it?

I think the sharing fee is in effect at sit-down/full service restaurants in the parks/hotels. The rest (counter service) has no sharing fee (because there is really no way for them to enforce one). That's how it was explained to me anyways. I don't know if they only charge a sharing fee for another adult(ages 9 and over) who's sharing, or if they also charge a sharing fee for a child. I won't know for sure until we go in October. :)

This will be our first trip to DL so there's a ton of stuff that I have no clue about. I want to make sure that DH and I will really enjoy this trip. From what I've read, this restaurant is unique to DL because it is actually in the POC ride. Do you see the boats or any part of the ride itself? Is the food worth the prices and does it matter if you eat at lunch or dinner? Also, do I need to make a reservation?

It is $4.99 to share. It is in the POC ride, you sit just after the boats take off, depending on which angle you can see the boats, and sometimes hear a scream or two. Very dark even in the middle of the day and it is very cool. At least that is how it was 2 years ago when I went.

My boyfriend and I used to dine at Blue Bayou all the time (for lunch). Ever since the menu changed and the prices increased, we haven't been back. I love the prime rib but I think it's $30 now and neither of us wants to spend $50 on lunch.

I'm not too keen on the split charge also. I would just use my bread plate (if any). ;)

One thing to keep in mind about the split fee- For that fee they are not just putting it on two plates. Each person gets their own sides, etc. So, its not really as bad as it sounds.

I agree with HLBTimes2, a Monte Cristo + 4 sides & 2 soups/salads for 23.99 isn't that bad of a deal and the MC is a very filling sandwich.

That makes splitting with my DD not so bad!!!

Does anyone know if they do "Birthday Buckets" at BB?

The plate sharing fee was $4 last month. Also, we did NOT get 2 soups or salads. We were told that one person would get a soup OR a salad. The 2 sides had to be the same between the plates and they were split between the two plates, so they were quite small. So, for the $4, you are only getting them to divide it between two plates. Next time we'll order an appetizer for one person and an entree for the other.
