I just made a reservation for the Fantasmic Blue Bayou Dinner Package in July. I don't see the menu listed any longer on the Disneyland website. Has the package changed at all since its inception? Still 3 courses (full menu to choose from) and Fantasmic seat cushion for the show?!

We just did the package on Memorial Day weekend, and the it was the same as before: 3 course menu + regular beverages (special beverages are extra) and a seat cushion.

We did the fantasmic package last night. No changes to the menus that are on allears.net and other sites. I was initially reluctant, but thought the food was good and the seating for Fantasmic was great! Plus, you are invited to stay in your seat and watch the fireworks if you go to the first showing of Fantasmic. While it's not like look at the castle, they put the projection images on the water, so you certainly don't feel like you are missing anything...and you don't have to fight the crowd.

sgepmike,

Thanks for the info! We booked this for our trip in June but were a little unsure if it was worth the pretty high asking price. Knowing that we can just stay put for the fireworks too, in addition to hearing how good the reserved location is for Fantasmic itself, definitely makes the package seem totally worth it.

By the way, is it possible or unlikely to get a table at BB near the water? We have one of the earlier dinner reservation times (4:20 pm).

Thanks!

So you went to the 9:00 Fantasmic, and were able to sit for the 9:30 fireworks show? I scheduled a later dinner, so that I could try to view the fireworks first, then go to the second showing of Fantasmic on 6/19 - trying to think if I should switch that around?

Correct. We did the 9:00 Fantasmic and stayed there for the fireworks. They actually "invited" everyone to do so over the PA before Fantasmic. They did a nice job of allowing you to see the projection and adding some of the new special effects.

We inquired about a water table at BB, but we're told that it would be an additional 40 minute wait. That wasn't worth it to us, but we did end up in the next row of tables after the tables on the water, so we had a great water view.

I wasn't thrilled about the $61 price, but it was worth it!

May I ask what time your reservation was for? I'd like to try for a water side table, so want to factor in the wait time. Also, do you think a 3 and and a 5 year old will be able to see okay sitting on the cushions? Was the reserved are crowded and were there River Belle Terrace diners there? Thanks!

We did a late 8:40 dinner and saw the late F! show during spring break - so crowded like summer for the most part. The cushions are thin, like an inch or a little more, so they don't change the sitting height of anyone really. The viewing area was not at all crowded when we went. We walked in at 5 minutes before show start and it was half empty. We had no problem seeing everything perfectly when seated (my girls are 7 and 9 so not as young as yours but I don't think you should worry). I am pretty postive the front and center VIP area we were in was only BB diners and that RBT diners were in the neighboring sections. This is my guess because several CMs said, "The Blue Bayou viewing area is this way." I think the later or earlier your reservation is (rather than prime dinner hour), the easier it is to get a water front table. We got a water front table and hadn't even requested it. We didn't get seated until after 9:00 though.

I'd like to know this as well! Waterside table is very important to us :) If we do the earliest seating at 4:00, would we have a better chance to get one with minimal wait?

We just did this about two weeks ago. Having never eaten here before (and reading mixed reviews) I wasn't expecting much as far as the food. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the shrimp cocktail appetizer, the surf & turf (filet and lobster) entrée, and the chocolate cake dessert. It was all very good.

The seating area was in a pretty good location and the cushions were nice (as compared to sitting on the hard ground).

Does the kid get appetizer and dessert as well?

The package looks really good and it is def something I want to do with my family during my DL visit. Thanks.

Crazy question. I don't eat beef. I'd love to get the surf and turf, but sub something like chicken or pork for the filet. Anybody know if this would be possible? I believe there is a chicken entree. Long shot, I know. And if nobody knows, I guess I can always ask when we're there. If not, I would probably get the jambalaya.

I suggest ordering the Tesoro Island Chicken and asking if you may add the lobster tail. I had added awhile back an extra lobster tail to my surf and turf. I had asked my server if I may do that. She asked about that and said yes, for an additional $12.00. I really like the Tesoro and love the surf and turf.

Did the dry seat cushion leave you foaming at the mouth?

I wouldn't know. Lol Never tried it. Not my cup of tea.Now according to another guest it is just too bland and icky.

edited typo lol

Good idea, thanks for the suggestion. Sounds like a plan. Or maybe I can convince my boyfriend that he wants 2 turfs so I can have 2 surfs :)
