We will be headed to DL in a few weeks and have a Fantasmic Dining package booked. We are 2 adults, a 10 yr old and an 8 yr old. Is there anyway around paying the $65 adult price for my 10 yr old Disney "adult?" There's no way he's eating enough food to make that remotely worth the cost. We may just have to cancel and do fast passes.

I'm with you. I understand paying a higher ticket price for that age. But paying adult dining prices at that age is ridiculous!!:guilty: But no I don't think there is a way around it.

My son is 13. We eat at Blue Bayou 1-2 times per trip, often with one of the viewing packages. He has never eaten off the adult menu there, just the kids menu. One time, while doing a dining package, I told them that I knew we had to pay the higher price, but my son wanted to eat of the kids menu, which was fine with them. But, when they brought the check, they had only charged child's price for him. I know it was purposeful on the part of our server, to charge less, since we'd specifically discussed that he should cost adult price. I believe he was 11 at the time.

I agree with the PP that you will most likely have to pay the higher price, but you never know when a little Disney magic will creep in.

I had the same experience as the PP with my very petite 10 year old (at the time), I told them the same thing, that she would like to eat off the kids menu, and will probably not even finish that (she didn't) and they just charged me the kids price. So it is worth a try. Good luck!

Last year I had the same thing. My ten year old daughter eats very little, so I asked if she could order from the children's menu. I was also only charged the child price for the package. I was grateful for that!

As other posters have said, be up front when you make the reservation (how many adults, how many children) and with your server. They will allow your 10 yo to order from the children's menu (usually for the adult price, they will increase the portion). Be prepared to pay the adult price, since the magic is not guaranteed.

This is good info to know. My daughter isn't really a picky eater but she doesn't typically eat very much (especially at dinner). I'll have to tuck it away in my brain for the future.

My smallish 12 yo has ordered off the child's menu at both BB and RBT for viewing packages in the last few months. I made the reservations for four adults and plan to pay for four adults, but have only been charged the child's price for him.

I'm going to look into the Fantasmoc Dining Package but I don't remember there being Fantasmic FP's--is that a new thing or have I been missing out?

My ten yr old and I just did the Halloween party package and the World of Color dining package. I booked both for two adults, but at both, after looking at the menu, she politely asked if she could have a children's menu. Both happily gave her the menu, and only charged the child price. I was expecting the adult price.
