Blue Bayou dessert only question.....

Did they reduce the number of kid's meals? Or change the kid's meal options? Is bread offered? I know the menu has been on the pirate hats and I thought they had chicken nuggets. Dh always gets his prime rib fix and I love the monte christo, but nothing on there appeals to dd. I also don't remember the soup or salad being included. Anyone ever bring in nuggets and fries from a nearby place and order the adult meals. Of course we would tip extra. Just want to make sure dd gets fed

The kids choices have been the same for the past couple of years. I thought I remembered nuggets before the ride was renovated but I don't know for sure, I'd only eaten there once and it was a long time before my last few visits. The kids do get bread, their meal options are mac n cheese (which some hate but my DD8 loves), Prime Rib, pb&j MC (which is supposedly just a deep fried uncrustable but my kids don't eat pb&j so we don't know) and citrus chicken drumettes, which have bones so my kids won't them.
The adult entrees come with potatoes and veggies or spinach on the side, you also get to chose from soup (gumbo or french onion) or salad. The adults get bread also. They are rolls, and they are soooooo good!!!!!

I honestly don't know if I could do BB just for dessert, I really love the food there. In fact last weekend I told DBF that I wanted the gumbo, the salad and the potatoes from BB for lunch.....LOL Too bad they won't do that!

Do they charge a split plate fee for a shared dessert?
I think I really want to go for the ambiance (and I've heard good things about the cookie boat). I'm thinking we (husband, dd4, me) would share 1 boat. I looked at the menu and I think it was $9 (+ $4 split plate charge). Maybe this would be a good end of the day before returning to the hotel kind of thing to do.
I've heard it is relatively easy to get a waterside table around 11:30 am, but how about 7:30pm. We are going in early May, arriving on a thursday (first day in park friday), up to the next tuesday. A weekday probably would be best for getting waterside table in evening.
Any tips or thoughts would be appreciated!

The ambiance is so great, and DMom and I had eaten there in the past, we just wanted it to be a part of our trip without purchasing an expensive meal. We relaxed, and the server never rushed us, just kept bringing us coffee and water. We left a larger tip than % would dictate, because the service was great and we did order small. It was great, and we were not charged for splitting.

We have the 11:30 PS on the 3rd day of our trip (2 days after DS's 8th B~day) we'll be getting dessert only ~ the cookie boat. My tip will be 20% of the price of our dessert. We now have a 10:30 PS at Minnie and Friends Breakfast on his birthday.

Had the cookie boat today!! It was wonderful. The best part of the entire meal. We split the chicken, I wasn't thrilled with it. I would rather have just had the salad and blue bayou taters, oh and the cookie boat.

I don't feel bad for ordering small. If that's what we want, that's what we want. We don't base our outings on what the servers may like or not like. That's not really my problem! We always tip well, depending on the service.

I'd have no problem with getting a water table and us just ordering drinks and deserts. Were still eating, and unless they have a rule about that, I'm not going to feel bad.

When we went in June we spent over a $100 on dinner there. The food was "okay," but I found it all way over priced. And even though we ordered full meals we still didn't get the best of service either. So nope, wouldn't feel bad for doing a desert only reservation next time. Nor would I feel obligated to tell them when checking in either.

I really belive she had the mickey nuggets last time we were there. Like yours, my dd won't eat any of those things. She may do a shrimp cocktail. Do you think they will let me bring in food from another place for her id DH and I order 2 full meals for us and leave a nice tip?
