Can you book the Blue Bayou just to have desert? I'm not a seafood fan but I'd like to eat in there. We're thinking of just doing a lunchtime desert. Is that possible? If so, what sort of time would you suggest? Cause we'll wanna see the parade.

Yep.. I just called and made a PS and they said it was fine to just get desserts. :goodvibes

I can answer the BB question: yes, you can book a ressie just to eat dessert (I'm doing this in August).

is everything spicy or is some there shrimp or lobster or what not..not spicy?
im going for dessert to but if i can actely7 eat the food might do lunch

The only thing I've had there is the Monte Cristo, which is NOT spicy, but IS terribly rich--very delicious, though!!::yes::

The last time I was there, I had both the KeyLime and the Cookie Boat/we shared both. DD did not like the key lime as much as the chocolate, I thought it was "excellent." Really liked all the tastes, kinda like eating Chinese.

They have quite a bit on the menu that is not seafood and not spicy. We were there about a month ago and DS16 and I split the "Tesoro Island Chicken" and it was delicious. DS18 and DH split the ""Five Pepper Prime Rib" and said it was very good, too. They also have beef short ribs, portobello mushroom, and a great sounding pork chop in molasses in addition to their seafood/fish items. When we were there the menus were given away as souviners (no idea how to spell that) because they are POtC menus. The desserts also each had a pirate themed "something" on the plate that was for the same purpose (ex: the Tortuga Trio of Creme Brulee had a ceramic treasure chest filled with gold covered chocolate coins).

cool I love sea food and looking for a good place to eat it. also are they still giving the suviners out?

We had our anniversary dinner there this month and it wasn't all sea food. I can't eat fish and DH hates it! So we all had the steak and potatoes. Very yummy, yet quite pricey! The atmosphere was great!

A lot of people seem to be doing the desert dining only, so I doubt it would be a problem. We thought about it, but ended up feeling a little funny doing it. Felt like such a "fancy" atmosphere to just order desert, and we ended up enjoying the whole dinner anyway. But that's just how we felt, from what others have said doing desert is just fine!

When I think Blue Bayou, the last thing I think is "seafood" lol. I used to always get the jerk pork with root beer apples...yum, so sad it's gone! DH always got some kind of beef. If we ever get around to it, I want to try the prime rib...and the passionfruit creme brulee...;)

I always have to eat there when we go - just for the Monte Cristo. It's big enough that two can share it which is what we do, and then there is room for dessert too!

I have to agree with you, I completely forgot they even served fish there, I like the prime rib.

We (me and DBF) ate there for this past new years and split the Tesoro Island Chicken and the cookie boat dessert. It was very very good! the chicken was really good and was served with au gratin potatos and i believe a small cup of gumbo. very tasty and enough to split between two. If you tell them you are splitting you will be charge an "extra plate" but each person will gettheir own gumbo and plate of chicken and potatos..and the extra charge is still much cheaper than ordering two separate dishes!
