So I am planning to make a reservation for Bay Lake- We will only be staying one night, with my kids and the 2 grandmas. Do we get the MK view or save and get the standard. One grandma has never been to disney- Will the view make a difference? We are planning to go to the MK that day.

Got mixed feelings on this...

It is a big difference in points.. and I've heard that even when you get "MK view".. sometimes it's not so hot..

I think since it will be for one night, it might be worth the splurge.

Looking at the 2011 point charts, the difference seems to be no more than 15 points, depending on room size and season.

I would still request a higher floor though, but for someone who has never been to Disney, even the lower floor would probably be an amazing sight!

I personally would save the points and opt for a LV. Take some time and head up to TOWL to enjoy the sights and the fireworks. Maybe you would even get lucky and your LV would also have a view of MK. Hope you have a blast!

if you don't own at BLT -- you probably can't get a standard view. these are on floors 1 thru 5.

they go pretty fast. there are more LV so they are easier to get.

mk views rooms start on 2nd floor - but for a good view more of the MK than the parking lot - you need to be on the 8th floor. there is only 15th floors (more of 15 & 16 are Grand Villa - but there are few 2-bedrooms)

the 8th floor is above the monrail.

think the 6 & 7th would be fine - if you loved the monrail more than the MK.


so several people staying in a MK view at BLT will be disappointed and have been.

The MK view is great for fireworks, but not much else, considering the points needed. You get a view of the parking lot in front of BLT, and Space Mtn., the castle...the LV is really nice and better, I think, because no parking lot. For just one night, I'd save my points and just do LV...go to the Lounge to watch the fireworks if you're not planning on staying in the park for them.
