What's the current policy? We will be there on Saturday but will not be staying on points. Will they allow us to go to the Top of the World for Fireworks? We are staying at a Disney resort and are DVC members.:)

You are in luck. As long as you are a DVC member and staying at a Disney resort, you can go up to the TOTWL. Bring your member ID and your magic band and check in at the lobby. And you aren't supposed to park in the BLT parking lot. You are supposed to use Disney transportation or park at the TTC parking lot.

I'm glad I checked this. Was still under the impression that you had to be staying at BLT as a DVC member to access TOTWL. Hmmm, Christmas Day we were going to watch fireworks from Cali Grill viewing area. Anyone know which view is better?

Cali Grill faces the park head on while BLT is off to the side. Neither have the perfect view like you had at the Poly's main beach. However since most of the beach is now blocked off with the DVC construction CMs really restrict the access to the Poly beach for Poly guests especiallyon big holidays.

Although access to TOTWL is not restricted for Christmas Eve or day, it is restricted for other holidays including the New Years Eve period. Here is what the MS website says.

Disney Vacation Club Members staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with vacation points or cash) may enjoy access to one of the vacation kingdom's most exclusive spaces: Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort through December 29, 2015 (blockout dates apply, including but not limited to December 30, 2014, December 31, 2014, July 3, 2015 and July 4, 2015). Current operating hours are 6 p.m. to midnight.

What if we wanted to have dinner at the food court at CR? Will they allow us to park there? Our plan is to use the monorail to visit BLT and GF to see the holiday decorations.

From the member website:

This perk is available exclusively to Members and those in their traveling party who are staying on that Member's reservation. At least one Member in the traveling party must accompany the group and present his or her current MagicBand or Key to the World card with a Disney Vacation Club Membership notation in order to gain admission to the lounge and observation deck. If the Member's MagicBand or Key to the World card doesn't display a Membership notation, a Disney Vacation Club Member ID is also required to verify Membership.

Note that Members traveling from other Resorts must use Walt Disney World Transportation, as parking is unavailable to anyone not staying at Bay Lake Tower or Disney's Contemporary Resort. Upon arrival, Members must walk to the Bay Lake Tower main lobby entrance on the ground floor and check in at the Top of the World Lounge desk in the lobby.

This special Top of the World Lounge access is available on a first-come, first-served basis until the lounge reaches capacity. As the lounge is particularly popular during the Magic Kingdom fireworks, arriving as early as possible will give Members the best chance of gaining admission.

So just take transportation from your Disney resort to the MK, walk over or take the monorail to the Contemporary. Then take it around to see the others. Get off at the MK and catch a bus back to your resort.

Thank you, Denlo! I think we may just stick with Cali Grill. Although I really like TOTWL. ;)

If you have the Tables in Wonderland card you can valet park for free at the Contemporary. The Top of the World is a qualifying lounge.
