Can anyone tell me what the villas are like at BLT? Is it hard to get an accessible villa there or are they plentiful? Looking for one HA 2-bedroom villa at BLT with great Magic Kingdom views. Is this possible? I've never been there and don't know anything about the HA villas there or the views. If anyone can help, that would be great. Thanks!

Gosh, I wish I could help. I've stayed in a MK/TP view 2 BR villa there but not HA. If you can't get an answer here soon, I'd suggest the resorts forum. More people frequent it. Good luck getting the info. Sorry I couldn't help. :upsidedow

Ppony - I appreciate your response even if you can't help! I did post in the resorts forum and people have responded but no one seems to have a definite answer. Someone suggested posting in here so I gave it a shot. I'm going to call BLT directly and if they can't help then try Special Services number. Thanks!

Oops, sorry. ;) I usually frequent that forum, but hadn't today. :faint: I hope you get one! The space in a TP view 2 BR is PHENOMENAL! I swear, I fltlike I heard an echo. :goodvibes

I don't know for certain as to how many and where they are, but by law they are required to have so many per room category. The only exception that I am aware of is that the Grand Villas (at least at SSR), there is no handicapped accessible rooms. This might only be for those whose Grand Villas are 2 floors.

Have you tried asking on the dvc resorts board? Since Blt is a dvc resort that may be your best et

peemagg - Yes, but apparently at BLT they have different levels of accessibility and not every category or view of the villa has every level of accessibility.

deegack - Yes, I posted on the DVC Resorts board too but no one seems to have a definite answer. Thanks though!

BLT does not have fully accessible villas in all categories but there are HA 2 bedroom villas in the theme park view and lake view categories (no standard views). There are not many fully accessible units (some classed as accessible are just regular rooms with additions for hearing accessibility) so you might need to grab one quick. Last year we had a 2 bed dedicated lake view villa on the 14th floor and it had great views towards MK one side and over Bay Lake on the other. I'm not sure if a theme park view would be much better, but I'd assume these look more towards Seven Seas Lagoon.

The villas on the outer curve of the building have views towards MK on the North Side and towards the Contemporary Resort and Wilderness Lodge on the South side. The villas on the inner side of the curve overlook the pool area. One little tip which we felt made all the difference when you have a wheelchair user is that due to the shape of the building the villas on the outer side of the curve are a little larger with slightly more floor area towards the window.

For some strange reason DVC are very secretive about details of accessible accommodation I've had very little info from them directly but have done a lot of research on the net.

loadsapixiedust - Yes, but do those HA 2 bedroom villas have roll-in showers? We just got off the phone and long story short, the only way to guarantee that we get at least two bathrooms with roll-in showers is to get either 2 HA 1-bedroom villas and request that they be adjoining or to get 1 deluxe studio and 1 1-bedroom villa (both fully HA) and request that they be adjoining. She said if you just ask for a 2 bedroom fully HA villa it would most like have 1 roll-in shower with the other 2 bathrooms having bath tubs. That wouldn't work for me and my grandma who will also be with us. My grandma doesn't need a roll-in shower. She could manage with a shower that has a little step up into it as long as she has grab bars.
