Hey everybody

I'm interested in purchasing a BLT contract when the right one comes up and I'm trying to figure out how many points I'll need based on the different views. I've got a couple questions:
1) I have very young kids and as much as I'd love to do a theme park view I'm worried the fireworks from MK would wake them up. Can you hear fireworks from inside the theme park view room? Can you hear them from the other views as well? Or does that sound not travel inside
2) I understand what the lake and theme park views would be like but what can you expect from a standard view?

Thanks

You can hear the fireworks even when you can't see them. We have been in a room that looked out towards the pool and it was really noisy during the day with the pool parties, too. Standard view is the lower four or five floors.

Be aware that depending on unit size, standard can be a hard get some seasons. Good rule of thumb is to plan points based on Lake View and be happy if you can get Standard and save the points.

Do your children use a white noise machine? If so that would probably drown out the firework noise. This past January we stayed at BW in a BW view room, the BW view rooms can on occasion be very noisy. One night it was extremely noisy but because our grandchildren sleep with a white noise machine they didn't hear a thing. ::yes::

Thanks so are standard rooms still on the same side as lake and theme park, just lower floors? So in theory the noise from fireworks is the same between a lower standard view and theme park view

I do put white noise on for them if they need it, that’s a good suggestion. So the noise wouldn’t be loud enough to be heard over that then, that’s good to know thanks

Standard view and lake view face both the parking lot and the pool/lake.

1-Depending on how light of a sleeper they are. My kids either laid in bed to watch them, stood out on the balcony, or slept right though them bc they were tired. People running and yelling in the halls were louder than the fireworks.
2- theme park view is nice if you plan to watch them from your room. Standard is parking lot or trees. Great if you don’t plan to be on the room much. Also these go quick so I’d plan on lake view and then if you can get standard you save some points.

Yes, you absolutely hear the fireworks from anywhere in Bay Lake Tower (as well as from most rooms in the Polynesian and Grand Floridian too). It's usually 9 or 10 PM. You can also hear the Electrical Water Parade from the Lake View Rooms - not sure if you can hear it from MK view rooms.

In addition to hearing the fireworks you also get to hear the various car alarms going off in the parking lot during/after the show if your room faces MK/ parking lot.

We had what was probably the least desirable standard view studio this January: ground floor, interior courtyard view. There was some noise as there is everywhere: folks walking and talking through the courtyard and sometimes noise from those in the pool.

There are a few lower floor MK-facing standard views, but your odds of getting those are extremely low. Even then, you'll spend a lot of time looking at a parking lot, which isn't exactly the most magical way to spend a vacation IMO.
