Hi all,

We are renting points for the first time and staying at BLT Lake View this coming February for our DVC "test run" before we dive in and buy.

My job requires me to watch TV the week we are there.

Last fall I brought my own DVR to POFQ and was able to easily hook it up and record what I needed to. Will I be able to do that with the flat screens at BLT as well?

Will I be able to get to the cables on the back of the TV and get them off so I can use my DVR for a few days?

Any help would be much appreciated. I'd much rather spend my vacation in the parks with my family and do my work in the evening.

Thanks,
Steve

This will be very easy at BLT - there's a small box that allows for RCA jacks to be plugged in (red/yellow/white cables).

Hope you don't have to watch a particular network, as Disney TV is very limited.

I hope you are not going during Speedweeks, because DVC's at WDW don't have Speed. Just taking a wild guess, as I know there are hours upon hours of coverage(I'll be at home watching a good chunk myself).

I do know Vero Beach has "real" cable.

I am the NASCAR Guide for About.com.

We will be in Disney for the first part of Speedweeks and I really need to know what's going on in Daytona while we are living it up with the Mouse. I was hoping to tape a bunch of programming and catch up in the evening after my kids are asleep.

No Speed will be painful. I have a Slingbox so I can watch my own TV (and DVR) over the internet but it is a LOT easier to record and watch from the same room and not have to deal with network lag to FF and Rewind.

It sounds like hooking up won't be a big problem but no Speed could be an issue. I might still have to Slingbox the Speed shows in order to get it all but can record the network and ESPN pieces locally.

Thank you all for the information. We are so excited to hear our first (rented) Welcome Home.

Good Luck!

I noticed that Disney dropped the Lifetime and Pax channels from the resort TV's. They really don't want you to watch TV in your room.
