BLT is simply wonderful. I am a critical person and gave negitive reviews to lots of other hotels. The resort has that Disney magic feel Rooms are amazing!!!! Very few negatives (door locks on bathrooms, furnature styles....). The pluses are many (monorail, beaches, swiming pool, longe T top, fireworks, boat rides, mk views, restaurants, huge windows, amazing lichens.....). BLT is one of out fav hotels. Wish I owned here

About a month away from BLT for us!! Christmas in a studio, lake view. Can't wait. Christmas at Bay Lake, ahhhh.

Then we're scooting over to Boardwalk Villas for New years.

Oh...hurry up time!!! lol

Sorry, yes, Kitchens are great (Hard to type on Iphones at times). Extra bath and sleeping for 5 makes rooms seem much bigger.

Watched fireworks off lounge at top last night. It was spectacular and they pump in park music and voices. Lounge is really nice and service was excellent but food selection was limited.

Pool is small but nice.

Community hall is small but nice outside activities (botchy ball and Shuffle boards).

I am just so impressed with everything, I am surprised at some of the negative reviews. Leaving for 3 nights at AKL tomorrow.

while I agree with you - BLT is wonderful. Other people just expect it to be different.

everyone has different taste and different ideals on what makes a dvc resort - which is why DVC has so many different styles and types.

if everyone liked the same things it would be a boring world.

definitely agree with you - BLT is grand. love it!!!

since sold OKW for it - definitely glad that I love it.:banana:

When we were there 11/6 - on the bridge from CR - there were a lot of bugs - I'm assuming they were attracted to the lights on the bridge, but only certain lights. It was a little strange. They were not biting bugs - well they didn't bite me!! If a bug bites - it will usually feast on me. LOL

"Amazing lichens."

Sorry that was corrected above. It had me thinking, on this day 150 years ago that Origin of Species was published, that the OP was likely a botanist and naturalist who was sold on DVC for its abundant fungus that grows around the resorts.

Hi Tigger031266,
Thanks for your review. I am glad to hear that you found so many positive things about the resort. I am staying there in a few weeks and can not wait. :thumbsup2

There is always something really magical about staying on property at WDW. I really can't figure out what it really is -- :confused3 -- it's not the rooms or views or the convenience of transportation. :confused3 I just cannot define it.

Oh, yes that's it -- pixie dust!

We always enjoyed going to WDW but the expense! Whew. The room prices (like everything else) has just skyrocketed since our first trip in 1986. Our income has not kept up with those price increases and now that we are retired we don't get those increases in salary for promotions, cost of living or bonuses. By buying into the DVC we have guaranteed ourselves that we will be able to stay in a larger room (villa) and have a kitchen at a resort with a nice pool and amenities for the cost of our annual dues (MF).

We just wish we had taken the step to buy into the DVC back when OKW opened.

Did you notice those millions of dead insects right by the south entrance near the contemporary ? I mean it was all over the floor and the floor lamps. Didn't see anyone clean them up. i was there last month and they were all over... not sure if it was mosquitoes or not.

think a few of those were the love bugs - have no ideal why they were there in Nov - they are surpose to be there in May and Sept.
