Blt totw ???

Can children go to TOTW? We will be at BLT for 5 nights and would like to visit and see the fireworks. Our 1st stay at BLT as DVC members.

My granddaughter is 1 1/2. Any problem with taking her? If we went for "snacks" before the fireworks, do they have high chairs for her?

Yes, children can be in TOTW.

About the highchairs...sorry, I do not know. We had drinks & appetizers there, but did not need a highchair.

Our DD has been up there several times no problem. I don't think they have high chairs as the tables are not the right height for them. Some are high tables and some are low but not 'dining table height'.

As PP stated, there are no "dining tables" at TOTW, just pub height tables. However, there are couches and chairs set up "living room style" with coffee tables in the center of the groupings, so that might work out better for you. They're in the middle of the lounge, so you'll need to go outside to view the fireworks, which I would recommend in any case. Have a great time -- we love BLT!

Just so you are prepared, the food menu up there is extremely limited and there's nothing on it for a kid. You'd probably be better off buying something to go from the cs place in the contemporary on your way up!

Contemp Cafe for the kids. The menu is a half-pager that I don't know would fit the bill for small ones. Their drink menu isn't even great for kids.

We were up there for the first time this past Monday night. LOVED it. Loved the view, loved the lounge, loved the ability to enjoy a drink while staring fondly at the castle (and not having to have a pricey dinner at CA Grill).

I'm now even more convinced I want to the lounge to stay available to members in the future.

We didn't get to stay and watch the fireworks from up there as we had to be up at 4:30am to fly out, but imagine that has to be awesome as well.

Kids are welcomed but the lounge area is really a bar with finger food. Low lighting with candles on the tables, some high tops and a few sofa groups.

I agree that there is not really any kid friendly choices. My 4 year old couldn't find anything she wanted when we went for snacks one night. I'd pack something for her if you can. I dont think there were highchairs either but I didn't specifically ask.

Kids of any age are welcome in the lounge... but there isn't anything at all there for them. It is definitely a place for adults. There is no entertainment for the kids. It's a bar, so it's mainly alcoholic drinks... they can do some virgin drinks and sodas for kids. The food is really only appetizers...no entrees for adults or kids.

Any kid between the ages of 3 and 15 would become bored with the place quite quickly. Because of the wall on the balcony at the lounge, anyone under 5 feet in height would have a hard time enjoying the view.

So yes, kids can go... just don't make it the evening's entertainment for them.

I stayed at BLT at the end of September. My DD-9 and I went to the lounge twice and had a great time. There is a large beanbag type chair in the middle of the lounge and all the kids would kind of hang out there and talk. MY DD was chatting away with 3 other girls in about 5 minutes. She was able to see the fireworks just fine,no problem with the wall. There are some chairs out there if you want to sit further back. People were doing that and seemed to be able to see just fine.

Regarding drinks and food. On both nights my daughter had a Shirley Temple. On the second night, Mike the bartender made her a hot chocolate on the expresso machine. Food is mainly finger food, but they do have a good nacho plate (although expensive, it is Disney). ON the last night, we had the a piece of the seven layer cake (wicked expensive), which was absolutely great. They offered to box up the remaineder for us to take back to the room, but we were leaving the next day early, so didn't take it.

They have added a (make your own-I think) PB&J as well as children's nachos to the menu as of our stay in Sept. There may have been 1 other item on the kids menu. If you like desserts or cake at all indulge in the ckae for 2 - it was one of the best pieces of cake we had ever had and it took us 2 days to finish it together.
