Hi
Can someone tell me where the entrance (elevator) is located?
Are there blackout dates? I am looking at March 2016.
I would like to see the Fireworks in MK and was wondering what time I should arrive?
I am staying at OKW (one of my home resorts) so would you recommend taking the bus to MK and just walking over,,I've also considered just taking a cab over.
Thanks in advance
Mel

Ok I finally got the DVC web site to work

"This access is available through December 29, 2015 (blockout dates apply). Current operating hours are 6:00 PM to midnight." so maybe this "perk is no longer available?

We took a bus to the MK and walked over to BLT. It's a 10 minute walk. We arrived about 20-30 minutes prior to the start of the fireworks. We opted to go on a night the MK was open late so that we could have a drink in the lounge after the fireworks and not worry about missing the last bus back from the MK to our resort.

You just walk into the lobby of BLT and ask one of the cast members about going up to the lounge. The last time we went was before the magic band era so things may be different now but when we went, I had to show the CM my DVC Membership card and a photo ID. The CM escorts you to the elevator and uses a special card that allows the elevator to go up to the lounge level.
There are blackout dates: July 3 and 4, Dec 30 and 31. On those nights the lounge is only available to DVC members staying at BLT.

I haven't heard that the perk has been discontinued. They probably just haven't updated the website for 2016.

Yep, what LisaS said. :) The cast members will always escort members up as one has to have a special key to get up to that floor level.

You can still do this as long as you are staying as a DVC member. Just went this month and was staying at the Poly. They check your Magic Band for a reservation, your ID, and membership card.

The only way you can access the TOWL without going to the BLT lobby is to have a room on the 16th floor. I was lucky enough to have a room there the first time we ever stayed at BLT. It was awesome to just walk right down the hall to the bar.

The only dates you can't go to TOWL is July 3rd & 4th and Dec 30th and 31st. Those are the blackout dates as 4th of July and New years fireworks are extremely popular to view from there so it's reserved only for BLT guests.

Thank-you everyone for all your help and information.
I just received my replacement membership card in the mail so I'm all set.
Thanks
Hugs Mel

You only have to be staying at a WDW resort, it doesn't have to be on points.

I am coming in June and staying at coranado for a convention. I understand I can still go up and bring guests that are in my room. Correct? I am a Dvc member

Hi I'm hoping to use the lounge next May 2017.

We r dvc members but staying SSR & BWV.

How long is the walk to bay lake tower from MK?

Does the lounge serve bar food / appetisers ?
Thanks

I have difficult feet. From actual exit of MK to BLT it took us 20 minutes yesterday. Most people I think can do it in 10.
The bar sells a few appetizers. I will check the menu out tonight. I've had soft pretzel bites with cheesy dip. I have seen folks eating layer cake slice.
Folks not staying here are trying to talk their way up to the lounge. It's the 3rd of July, and supposed to be for DVC Members staying here. There's a sign explaining the situation.

Drinks are the fairly normal bar menu you find around WDW with a few specials for TOTWL. The apps are very limited but there are a few. This is the menu that shows on allears.net. Sounds like Bobbi will be able to update if there are any changes. I was thinking that the sliders were no longer on the menu the last time we were there which was after the publication of this menu in May 2015.

Bay Lake Tower BLT Flatbread - with brie, bacon, ham, sliced tomato and arugula. $8.99

Soft Pretzels and Dips - soft pretzels with spicy-sweet cream cheese and mustard dipping sauce $8.49

Florida Rock Shrimp Salsa - local citrus, avocado and crispy plantain. $11.99

Beef Tenderloin Slider $11.49

Desserts
7 Layer Cake for 2 - with salted caramel sauce $10.99

Prior to your vacation, verify that DVC hasn't changed the access rules.

Oh Yay! The menu is beefed up again. :goodvibes

Prices - well, that's not real great to not have them. It's not like we don't have some idea it will be expensive.

3rd of July fireworks were so great! We've booked BLT specifically to be able to go up on Dec 30,31, & now July 3rd.
Tom and I are very happy BLT owners and this year we have a studio, for 2 of us, it is more than enough. What we like is having a real kitchenette area. We have a lake view, of the marina, it's nice.

Now we move to BCV, and my favorite pool!

Are there kids items on the menu?
Are kids allowed up there?
Are there tables with fireworks viewing or is it best to go outside?
How early should we get there for a window table?
Do they take/ do you need ADRs?

We are visiting in early June 2017 and I'm considering this for our first night. With the time change from AZ, it may feel like dinner time at fireworks time. But then we'd be right at the hotel instead of fighting the crowds in MK.

NOT THAT I RECALL-it is really just a bar/lounge food menu (the picture above is the whole food) menu
Are kids allowed up there? Yes
Are there tables with fireworks viewing or is it best to go outside? There are a few tables along the windows
How early should we get there for a window table? Not sure perhaps someone else can give you an idea
Do they take/ do you need ADRs? No they do not it is first come first serve
