BLT Top of the World Lounge

Please come visit the Top of the World Lounge! It is so beautiful, so nice, and the people are so wonderful. The drinks are great. The snacks are absolutely delicious. However, no one is going up there. Seriously. These folks put a lot of thought into designing this wonderful, exclusive place for us to watch the fireworks and just relax. But no one is coming to visit! We've gotten to know the folks there in the past couple of days and are talking with them alot. We just spoke with them and right now there are only 8 people in the lounge. They are open from 5-12. Please come visit. Please?

How many of the villas are open for guests? Maybe that's why it's empty - they're not at capacity yet (?).

We'll be there in December 2009 (also planning Oct 2010) and are planning to stop by for a night cap most nights. Pool bars are nice, but there's something about a lounge bar.

No reservations required. The lounge is open from 5 to midnite. It's a first come, first server basis. You check in at a podium in the lobby area on the first floor and the CMs working there will take you to a special elevator where their key card will allow you to ride the elevator up to the 16th floor.

No idea how many villas are open yet. We've notice quite a few that appear to not have anyone in them yet. You can usually tell, cause the ones that have people in them have the lamps moved out of the way.

They were at half-capacity at open (I read a number but don't recall now) and expect to be at full operating capacity this weekend.

Favor, please? Could someone who is there now (or coming soon) ask if they will have the music piped in from "special" fireworks as well and post the info? Specifically, we will be there on Sept. 4, the first Halloween Party night, and would like to watch Hallowishes from TOW. (Not going to the party since we will be back for Halloween night with our college age kids). Thanks!

I can't confirm this but I can only imagine the soundtracks for the special fireworks shows are broadcast. This has always been the case when we've watched the special shows (Halloween and Xmas) from the California Grill observation deck.

I know when we (finally) get to stay at BLT, we'll definately be visiting the TOWL of an evening.

Now, I'm off to work out how many points I'd need to stay there in October 2010.

Viewed wishes from the Top of the World Lounge tonight (Saturday). There was only like 50 people up there. Someone was going off on the people in the lobby because he paid cash and was not allowed up. It was a very neat experience. My wife got a drink that had a blinking ice cube she was able to keep. One issue is small kids cannot see over the wall. DD sat on my shoulders.

DVC members staying at BLT on points and guests staying in their room have access, so your aunt and uncle should have access as well.

FYI, A DVC member's guests staying at BLT on points even in a different room from the member have access to TOTW. The member does not have stay at BLT either. But of course then the member wouldn't have access to TOTW.

I've heard nothing but rave reviews and we have friends that just left BLT today. Two more months and we'll get to experience it for ourselves. Sounds fabulous!

If they are staying with DVC Members (you) on your points and are registered guests in your villa there, then yes they will be able to go in. They are checking everyones' KTTW card carefully.

Can't wait to visit at the end of October! This is the biggest reason my (sentimental and nostalgiac) mom wanted to stay at BLT in the first place! I have a feeling we will end every day up there...
