BLT through RCI

I just booked into BLT through RCI with our different timeshare company. Since we are on an exchange, not cash, will we be able to use the viewing deck at BLT? I had read somewhere that you can't use it if you were on a cash reservation.

It may depend on the whim of the CM controlling the elevator. Many of them ask to see the Blue Member card, plus the KTTW that shows you are a DVC guest at BLT. Since you don't have a blue member card, they may tell you no.

I had to show my blue dvc membership card. Like Deb & Bill said...it probably depends on the CM working the podium.

Darn! Oh well, there have to be some perks just for DVC members! I have another question....does anyone know if there are certain rooms set aside for exchanges? I booked a 1BR, but have no idea what type of view it will be. The RCI rep couldn't tell me anything, other than it was a 1 BR. I realize they probably assign units close to the reservation, but I didn't know if some categories were off limits. Like if there was any chance we would get anything but a standard view.

As far as the TOTWL goes, I'd give it a try. Can't hurt.

Once you have the info from RCI, call MS and find out if you have a standard view, lake view or a MK view. It's probably a lake view. That category has the largest number of villas and is probably what was deposited by DVC.

Anyway, you will get whatever was deposited and DVC Member Services shoud be able to tell you what you have. When you call, ask for the RCI exchange group so you get the CMs experienced with the trades. AFAIK, you can make general requests,just like DVC members can - like high floor, close to elevators, etc.
