Just finished a two night stay at BLT over New Years. We really enjoyed the resort, and the location can not be beat. We were wait-listed for an MK view room, which never came through. Fortunately, we could see NYE fireworks for MK, Epcot, and DHS from our balcony!
The room was in good shape, but it did show signs of premature wear. I agree with the others that have commented that the materials selected were maybe a mistake. Not a huge deal, but definitely noticeable, especially when you compare it to another new resort like Kidani. Some of the common areas also could use some TLC. For example, the center elevator on the south side also had a big piece of its base-board missing. That said, I liked the modern decor a lot.
We were in a non-renovated studio, so the bathroom sink still faced the kitchen sink. We actually preferred this set-up as it allowed someone to shower while someone else was using the sink. The gap in the door was odd, however.
Another quirk we experienced was that we kept receiving voice mail messages that were definitely for someone else. We also had Magical Express checkout papers on our door after the first night that were for another party. Not sure if this was a computer glitch or something else. As other posters have commented, our keys also do not say "DVC Member."
We went to MK on 12/30 and although it was crowded, it wasn't as crazy as I expected. We stuck to AK on 12/31, which was not crowded at all. At 4pm we walked on to Dinosaur and at 530pm we waited about 15 minutes for Everest. Yesterday we went to Epcot, which was also not very crowded.
We are now at Kidani and still having a great time. I love being a DVC member!
