Hi all. I'm starting to think of our next trip and was hoping to gather opinions for the option between 4 nights in standard view 1BR vs. 5 nights in MK view studio (both for BLT). There will be 2 adults and 2 children and although I would usually choose the longer stay (and also love to see the castle in Dec. all lit up), I have read about the studios at BLT feeling somewhat small for more than 3 people. Thanks for your thoughts!

I would go for the 1 BR, but I'm not a huge "view" person as we are only in the room a few minutes in the AM and usually out at night at fireworks time anyway.

In fact, looking back at my last 12 night stay, I probably spent less than 30 minutes total on the patio or looking out the back window of any of our villas.

With four of you, go with the one bedroom. It will be very tight with four of you in the studio.

It is basically the difference between a roomy 810 sq ft for the 1 BR and 340 for the studio. That studio is about the size of a Carribean Beach Resort room. It is smaller by at least 20 sg ft than any other DVC studio except AKV "value" studios. If you value comfortable space go with the 1BR. If you don't mind being cramped go with the studio.

My vote is for the 1 bedroom as well. BLT studios are not meant for 4 people. It can be done, but it won't be comfortable.

In my personal opinion, Bay Lake Tower studios are best for:

Single Adults
Two non-coupled adults
A couple
A couple plus a small child.

2 Adults and 2 kids: Standard View 1 bedroom all the way.

I'll also offer this up: There are NO bad views at BLT. Only a few okay views and LOTS of spectacular views. With the standard view studios, you have (I think) about a decent shot of being able to see the castle from your balcony.

You, as DVC members staying at BLT, can also go up to the TOTWL and gaze upon the magic kingdom from one of the best vantage points anywhere...regardless of where you stay.

Also: the 1-bedroom will have 2 full bathrooms. 2 bathrooms with 4 people will greatly speed up the time it takes to get ready for anything.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like the 1 BR will be the better option for us, now I just have to remember to call right at my 11 month window next month and hope for the standard view! It's funny to be thinking about Dec 2011, when today is just the frist day of December this year. Thanks again, I appreciate the insight!

We'll be in a one bedroom for mardi gras.. can't wait! I hope what was said about "no bad views" is true!

The one-bedroom would be the best option, IMHO. You'll be MUCH more comfortable!

I agree with the no bad views, unless you pay the extra points for the MK view. I believe there are plenty of bad MK Views. I would not want to give up any 1 bedroom for a MK Studio and then get a poor view.

Op, I agree that I would go for the 1 bedroom at BLT. They are gorgeous!! Very well laid out. The studio is just too tight. I would not compare them to an AKV Value studio, because the value studio floor plan is so much better.

We were at BLT in Oct in a 1 bedroom. I think that is small enough for 4 but I was spoiled never staying in anything but a 2 bedroom. You can go to so many different places to see the castle all lite up IMO, include TOWL if your a member.

Good luck with your decision.

Having stayed in both, definitely go with the 1 bedroom. There is just no comparison between the two.

The studio, I think, is okay for a few nights with a few people. If my only option was to stay in a studio, then I would choose that.

But, for the view, I don't think I would. First, I have heard that some of the MK views on the lower floors are not that great.

We have had LV rooms on the northern end which had really nice fireworks and MK views. I realized then that I would never spend the extra for MK view--well, at least not until they change it to only rooms on the 6th floor or higher.

definitely go with the 1-bedroom.

the studio are fine for singles or couples - more than that and you will feel crowded.
