Due to the snow, we've had to change our June vacation in BCV to accomodate the local school system extending the school year by another week to June 24th. Any additional snow days will be taken out of Spring Break.

After much gyration, I've modified our reservation so that I will be spending the first two nights alone in a lake view studio at BLT, then meeting the family two days later when they come down and shifting back to BCV (1BR), where our original reservation was made.

Never stayed at BLT but read a lot of negatives about the rooms. So the question is, am I essentially looking across the courtyard at the other side of the building? And how high up in the building can I get in a studio?

Yes solo, although for a few nights I have to entertain about 25 women at a compensation conference in the Swan I am holding a few nights before. Taking them all to a dinner I've arranged at the American Pavilion, then renting the Morocco terrace for the fireworks. Typical conference that I hold. Next year is Las Vegas at the Bellagio.

Then I'm alone and have to figure out what there is to do by myself. Perhaps work on taxes. :goodvibes

We stayed in a lake view studio at BLT last summer. We were up pretty high (7th floor maybe? :confused3) and sort of in the middle. We overlooked the pool and had a great view of the Electric Water Pageant.

As for the room itself, it was fine. I know lots of people have complained about the sink configuration, but it didn't bother us. It is my understanding that Disney is remodeling the studios to put the bathroom sink back in the bathroom, so this may not even be an issue by the time you go.

Enjoy your studio! Make sure you get to TOTWL to see Wishes. :thumbsup2

Do you need a reservation to get up to the TOTWL? or can you just walk up?

Lake view can also be on the outside of the "C." Here's a great thread to look at. The first page has the most info, along with room location charts.

To get to TOWL, you need to go down to the lobby desk, and someone will take you up to TOWL. No reservations needed.

We stayed on the 11th floor, North end, even room #, and hence on the outcide of the "C." GREAT view!

For our first stay at BLT we were in a lakeview studio on the 16th floor. It was very convenient, as we could just walk over to TOTWL whenever we wanted. Yes you can see across the courtyard to other side -so make sure that you keep the drapes closed at night when the room lights are on. During my stays at BLT I have seen plenty of people who clearly don't realize that they are on display in their pjs or worse yet, only partially dressed!:scared1:

I just returned today from 4 nights in a studio at BLT - room 7838...if you want an outside room, request an "EVEN" numbered room...the odd numbers are on the inside or courtyard view. We had a lake view and looked south towards the Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, and eventually off to Epcot and I could even see the Tower of Terror in the distance. Also great view of the Electric parade at night.
I was not impressed with the room and would rate it below the Boardwalk Villas as far as size and layout. Our room had been renovated so the sink problem was fixed but the room just seemed too small. The view though was great. I would definitely ask for an upper floor room for the better view.

I agree - WHO CARES YOURE GOING TO BE IN DISNEY - ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE MAGIC KINGDOM!!! Yes the studios are a little smaller but how much time do you really plan on spending in your room anyway ;).

Also, if you remember you might want to ask for an even numbered room above the 4th floor. Even numbered rooms are on the MK side and you might have a shot at a partial MK view! I did this when I was there last July and it worked! Since we were only staying one night the CM gave us a handicap accessible room that was right on the end over the tennis courts - and was more MK view then Lake View. But I have no complaints about the Lake View either!

No reservations needed. You can not "just walk up". You need to check in with the CM the BLT lobby. Allow a few minutes to get up there as there is usually only one CM and if they are assisting another group it could take a few minutes.

Ditto!
We liked the room! The bathroom door didn't bother us either!
I have long hair so I just brushed it in the bathroom so as not to get any hair in the food area! I loved how much counter space was in that area!
