Hi All,
I'm thinking about attempting to rent DVC points at BLT for May 2014 as soon as the 11 month window opens. My son will be 20 and and my daughter 18. There is no way they could share the pull out. Has anyone tried to use a twin size air mattress in a studio at BLT. We've used this method at a moderate and it worked like a charm. Just wondering if there's adequate space in a studio.

There isn't much room, the square footage is actually a little less than a moderate. I guess you could try to put it in the kitchenette area.

BLT studios are sooooo small :crowded:

I would never put 4 adults in there even if everyone fit in the beds. You really want to either book a 1 BR at BLT or look at a studio elsewhere.

It will not easily fit. With the couch pulled out you can barely walk around the room. We are three in the room but one has a bad back and sleeps in a lounging chair (you should see the looks i get when i go though the lobby with a Lazy Boy chair...) and i have to close the couch first thing in the morning to be able to get around the room. You can give it a try but i don't think so... The BLT studios are the smallest rooms on property and unfortunately the most expensive DVC to stay at. Another one may be cheap enough that with a couple more points you can get a one bedroom.

BLT studios are the smallest square footage studios. Unless you're used to being right on top of each other I'd strongly suggest something else!

You might be able to fit it in up by the door. But that would impede those using the bathroom during the night..so might want to try in the kitchenette area.

I love BLT, I own there. And while I haven't had an issue with it's smaller size yet, I can't imagine putting 4 adults in there, unless they were willing to share a bed!! When we go, I share the queen with my dd and my dh takes the sofa bed.

Can you do: boys in one bed, girls in the other?

You should know that in a BLT studio, when you pull out the bed there is no space at all in the living area. There's no space between the windows and the sofabed, and not much between the sofabed and the queen bed. If you can fit an aerobed anywhere it would be in the hallway going toward the bathroom which doesn't seem like the best place for it, if you have anyone get up in the night to go to the bathroom.

I think 2 adults is more than enough and 3 is doable but pushing it. 4, no way.

The total square footage is more than a moderate. Moderates are around 314 sq ft and BLT studios are about 359 sq ft. The kitchenette is designed like a galley kitchen, so it takes up a lot of space. So, the floor space in the bedroom is less.

As DVC studios go, the only one smaller is the AKV value studios. (Oddly, the 1-bdrms are among the largest).

We use them with no problems. I would choose a theme park view studio over a standard view 1-bdrm, but that's just me. My kids don't mind sleeping together and we do fold the sofa back up each day.

If your kids don't want to share a bed it would be really hard in a BLT studio. A 1-bdrm has the pull-out sofa and chair. Otherwise, you could always look a lower point DVC resort.

We have only stayed in a couple of studio for only a few nights with my sister, but we have found the pullouts to be very un-comfortable, even our lil DD did not like it:laughing: But thanks to the DIS:goodvibes we read that some people took the mattress out of the couch and laid it on the floor, so the next time we stay at a studio we will try that.

if you want a studio - go for it - we just did blt - w/my 20yo son & my 22yo daughter - we did the boy/boy & girl/girl - but when my husband hurt his leg & he needed to keep it immobile - we used the air mattress - you just slide the hassock under the tv table - and slide the mattress along the dresser - being all adults you'll be going to sleep around the same time - so you don't have to worry about disturbing someone on the mattress - and it can be slid between the wall & the bed during the day - and then you can save the points for another trip -

With the BLT studio, most of the space is in the bathroom, the kitchenette and the entrance way. It doesn't leave much space for the living area. The bathroom is really big and the kitchenette is bigger than all the other studios. And while those spaces are big, you wouldn't be able to have an adult sleep on the floor there.

I would never do four adults in the BLT studio. We had four in the one bedroom and it was comfortable. The only studio I would do four adults in is OKW and it has two queen sized beds, no double sleeper sofa. And I would only do it for a few days. Not a full week.

The kitchenette is only three feet wide. I don't think a twin sized air bed will fit in that space.

You can't take the mattress off the platform. It's a three section pad, not a real mattress.

Last year, DH and I stayed with our then 12 and 10 year old. It was barely enough room. The bed is a queen and the sofa bed a full. I can't imagine four adults sharing that space. I wouldn't stay there today with my kids.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. You all have saved me from making a really poor choice. I'll have to come up with plan B. I was nervous about the non-refundable issue with renting points anyway.

This include the newer ones? If that's the case then if there is a next time, we will bring an air mattress:( Oh well, thanks for the info.
