BLT studio vs. WL studio?

We only have enough points left in 2013 for a studio after 2 trips in 2012. I would just like some opinions on the studios. 2 adults and a 4yr old will be traveling. I've heard the BLT studios are tight and we're used to a 1 BDRM. Thanks, Marc

Go with the studio at VWL. You'll have more room. The BLT studio is the smallest of all the studios. They put most of the space into the bathroom (had to have enough room for that sliding door) and the hallway into the studio. The room doesn't have a separate nightstand at the side of the queen sized bed - no room. So they designed a headboard with small projections on the side to set the phone.

When you open the sleeper sofa (double sized), it almost touches the window on one side and the queen bed on the other.

But the OKW studio requires less points and has more room. Two real queen sized beds (no sleeper sofa) and a very large bathroom (so giving the kiddo a bath is easier).

Because you are asking about BLT & VWL, i think you're primarily interested in MK. Although small, the BLT studio can accommodate the 3 of you, and if you know about the size you may enjoy your stay there. I've stayed in one to check it out, & was pleasantly surprised & decided DH, myself & DGS, aged 8, will be fine for our 4 night stay prior to our cruise in August. DGS and we have stayed in a 2 bedroom there a few years ago, & he really enjoyed the Community room, so when he had a chance to sty with us, that's the resort he picked.

I was surprised at how they managed to fit everything into the bathroom, it's compact, but functional, and the kitchennette is a nice work space with storage racks.

Now, I love VVL, and the boatride to the MK. However, the novelty of watching wishes from the top of BLT could persuade me to try BLT for a trip.

We just returned from staying at Bay Lake, Studio with, our 6 year old grandson, we, my DH, myself and GS did not have any problem with the space. I have stayed in Wilderness lodge but not with our grandson so I can not compare. I didn't find that the room was crowded it. The convience of the monarail or walking to the MK was good for us.

BLT walking to the MK can't be beat. but walking back when the park closes is pretty wonderfully!

that say would agreed with pp the studio is small. but you probably won't be in the room for long.

My family and I stayed in a BLT studio for 10 days. Our 3yo slept in the sleeper sofa and our 1yo in a crib (in the little "nook" by the front door).

You'll have plenty of room if you keep the place tidy and fold up the sofa when not in use. BLT has plenty of places to store your junk to keep it out of the way.

We love the studios at BLT. Yes, they are a bit smaller than the other studios. But, we found it to be no problem at all...and we aren't small people. Dh is 6'4'', I'm 5'8'' and dd is 5'11''....normal builds. Dd and I took the bed, while dh took the sofa bed. Worked out just fine. We never felt squished or too tight.
I have also stayed at VWL in a studio as well. Probably my worst DVC stay to date. Now.....that was probably because I needed to get into a villa rather than wait another 4 hrs for one..so took one on the ground floor, at the very end of the bldg...it felt very remote. And I didn't care for the theming either...way too dark for me. But, that is a personal preference. I love the WL itself..loved walking around the resort, especially at night.
