BLT Studio or a MOD - same price

I have an opportunity to stay in a Lake view BLT studio for just about the same amount as a standard room at Port Orleans. I am a bit concerned about the size of the studio for a family of four. My kids are 4 and 9.

The location seems to good to pass up. We are staying for a week. Any thoughts? Thanks you guys have been great helping me to plan!

I vote for the studio. The location can't be beat. We are a family of 4 and the studio works just fine - plus you have the microwave for quick things.

Did you feel like you were staying at a Disney resort or just a high rise hotel?

Love BLT the studio is small not sure size of room compared to POR. But can't beat location.

Are you 2 kids going to be OK sleeping on a double sleeper sofa at BLT? The studios at BLT are small. If you go to POR and get a room in Alligator Bayou, your youngest could sleep on the murphy bed plus you also have 2 queens.

The BLT studio is the smallest of all the DVC studios. To put in the fancy sliding door in the bathroom, it needed lots of space. So the bathroom is large. Everything else is tiny. When you open up the double sized sleeper sofa there is only a few inches between the sleeper sofa and the queen sized bed. And there is almost no room between the sleeper sofa and the window.

We recently decided to stay in a studio at BLT for our next trip. We are two adults and two 12 year old girls, so bed sharing is not an issue for us. Also, we really don't use our room/villa for much more than sleeping. We are usually in the parks open till close. So size is not an issue either. We chose it for the location and easy monorail access to Epcot and other resorts for meals.

That's where I am right now too. My boys are not very big and are used to sharing a double when we go away. The living space just seems so small. We had no issues with ASmo six years ago, but it was only three of us.

Easy to travel to Epcot or other Monorail resorts for dinner. And the fireworks were spectacular from BLT we could see them from our balcony and you out the tv on for the sound of jiminy cricket. So enjoying a glass of wine in my slippers at the end of the day while watching fireworks from my room , kids in their pj's without crowds was priceless.

They are probably renting points to stay at a DVC resort. The price of renting points for a Bay Lake Tower studio is close to the price of a POR room directly from Disney.

Absolutely not, you cross the bridge into contemporary so you absolutely feel like your in a Disney resort. BLT was very relaxing, pool was great and never too busy. So you could escape the chaos. Take elevator to ground floor and you are a short walk to MK, c ant beat that.

We have stay at PORFQ and BLT studios. We are a family of 4 as well (one boy and one girl). I would pick BLT every time. It is one of my favorite places. The storage is great in the studio.

For that price, without a doubt, the BLT studio! We have stayed in both to be able to complare, too...
BLT is an amazing resort and yes, it can be small for 4 but your kids are still young. Like others have said, you have the benefit of the mini kitchen...a toaster too, decent size refrig, food prep area. I think the layout is quite efficient and comfortable. Like mentioned, the storage is good! I personally think it has some nice Disney touches.

The pool area is wonderful, the activities for your kids' ages are awesome too! If you go, make sure you save some time for night swimming, the campfire with marshmallows, and use Community Hall~ great for kids.

We love POR too, but with the price, you can do that another time, perhaps when your kids are a little older and you need more sleeping space.
