Just back from a FAB-U-LOUS trip with 5 friends to celebrate Princess Always' bithday in The World! We had tons of fun, and some great food too. I'm downloading pics now to Photobucket & will start posting as soon as they're done. Some reviews with pics will be: Chefs de France, Kona Cafe, Yak & Yeti, Sci-Fi, Le Cellier & Chef Mickeys. Lots of snacks along the way too - churros, school bread, sweet pretzels & more!

Day one - Friday 11/13 - well technically 3 of the ladies were here Thursday night - so DFD, Linda & Deb - feel free to post your food pics from that day!

When we got to BLT around noon, the 3 lovely ladies were dining at The Wave - DFD please post your pics - they looked divine! I know she had some sort of sushi appetizer. Carol & I headed to Epcot where we had a lunch ADR at Chefs de France. We were seated promptly (after a PROFUSE apology from me for being late because on the way to Chefs I spotted MARIE - and I have been looking for Marie for 10 years in WDW!!)

We had the prix fixe lunch menu -3 items from a pre-selected menu for $20. We both had the lobster bisque as our appetizer - OMG to die for! I thought it would be thicker or creamier, but it had a very thin consistency. No matter, it was still rich & flavorful & just divine. It also came with fresh warm sourdough bread.

I had the baked macaroni & cheese as my entree - very good, very rich & creamy. There was a spice that we couldn't determine - anyone know what it is? Carol thought maybe Nutmeg. This was very good but I wouldn't need to get it again.

Carol had the toasted ham & cheese with side green salad. We split our meals (as you will see we do often) so I had half of this & all of the salad. Carol doesn't lile viniagrette dressing, and that's what was on the mixed greens. The salad was very good but nothing to rave about. The sandwich was OO LA LA!!! This was incredible. So simple yet so tasty! We both agreed we would get this again.

For dessert we split the Profiteroles au Chocolat - little cream puffs with vanilla ice cream & chocolate sauce - DIVINE -and some sort of rich chocolate cake with layers of dark chocolate mousse - very good but just too rich for more than a few bites. There were a few fresh berries on the dessert plates that were very good as well.

We both loved Chefs. It was very crowded & noisy, but a really nice restaurant & the service was good. We even had a visit from Remy! We would return to Chefs de France again. We were so full from all that rich cheese that we didn't eat again until....

I'm in! We are returning to Chefs for lunch in December and I definitely plan to try that sandwich. I thing the mac & cheese spice is nutmeg, too but I don't know for sure ...

We were soooo stuffed from lunch at Chefs but couldn't resist some snacks from the bakery in Norway around 7pm....we shared the School Bread and 2 sweet pretzels - one with chocolate & one with almonds. I think I liked the sweet preztel with almonds the best (although I'm a big School Bread fan too). I was expecting a more traditional salty pretzel flavor, so I was surprised that it was more of a light, sweet dough.

We didn't get the Cloudberry Horns - but will definitely try that next time. see - you have to have something to look forward to NEXT TIME!!!!

I almost forgot - it was Linda's birthday that we were celebrating all week - so after our first day in the parks, we checked into our BLT 2BR villa - and here Linda had ordered a birthday cake for everyone to share! It was soooo good.....it was a rich moist chocolate with layers of white chocolate filling. I wish I had a picture of the inside after we cut it! We snacked on this the whole trip. THANK YOU LINDA!!

The next morning we had an ADR at Kona for Tonga Toast! I had never had this & was dying to try it. I must say I was NOT disappointed! Carol had the Pineapple Macadamia Nut pancakes which were also very very good, but Tonga Toast is something I will crave until I'm back again.

This was the syrup & strawberry compote served on the side:

I only ate mine with the strawberry compote - it was sweet enough without adding any syrup.

Tara....OMG.....these pictures are making me sooooo hungry for them again!!! We certainly ate our way through the World, didn't we??? :rotfl2::thumbsup2

Everything looks so good! :goodvibes

I think I have to try those cloudberry horns next time too! They look fabulous... I think you got a good angle on the tray of them with the camera.

And that tonga toast looks like it has a heart on it with the strawberry stuff... I almost thought they did it purposely for a celebration! Maybe if they don't already, they should. It'd be great for anniversaries and honeymoons!

Thanks for sharing!

After Kona we hit AK - and stopped at Yak & Yeti CS for lunch. Carol & I split a serving of shrimp lo mein and an order of egg rolls. Both were much better than the last time I had them there. The egg rolls were a little greasy though, and there was a strong garlic flavor in the lo mein that stuck with me all day, but I would get this again. I like to eat here & take my food down to the little chairs by the water & just relax away from the crowd.

Woo Hoo !!!

We've been trying to get a pic with Marie for at least 10 years as well....

Nice catch !! Maybe our luck will change next month.

Great pics and reviews. Keep 'em coming ! :goodvibes

I was sooooo excited Joshua Me!!! I think that is one of my favorite pictures from the whole trip!!!

The next day we just ate bagels in the room & headed right for DHS. I was craving something sweet so I had to get a churro!! LOVE THEM!

We didn't have any lunch plans sinc we had an ADR for Le Cellier that evening, but Linda surprised me & called & got us in to Sci Fi for lunch! That's one of my favorites & she remembered! Thank you Linda! Aren't DIS friends the best?!

My friend Carol had never had a turkey leg, so we headed over to Toluca Legs Turkey Co. I have had these before & while I do love them, they can be quite messy & difficult to eat. The one she got was very small compared to the ones I have gotten in the past. She shared, and it had the same smoky flavor I remember. Carol said she didn't ever need to get one again!

After a few shows & rides it was time for Sci Fi! Now this is the one place that seems to get horrible reviews here on the DIS, but I eat here every trip, and love it! I've never had a bad meal. We both started off with the BLT soup - DELICIOUS! We had this in honor of our group name - "The BLT Shakers." I'm not even sure how we got that name. We stayed at BLT, and I'm guessing someone assumed we'd be loud & rowdy & added the "Shakers" part! I also had an Oreo milkshake which was heavenly, and I had the mushroom, swiss & onion burger which was absolutely divine. I am soooo ready to eat this again!!!
