Hi!

I'm at BLT now, for the first time. I'm staying in a 1BR with my parents. My mother and I are lamenting the lack of adequate lighting for applying makeup. Both bathrooms have mood lighting that throws shadows.

Has anyone else run into this problem, or am I just being picky?

By the way, love the room otherwise.

I didn't have any problems. But then, again, I haven't work makeup in years. It just doesn't seem to fit at WDW anyway to me.

I haven't stayed at BLT yet but I find this to be a problem at many of the resorts. The vanities are so deep that you can't get very close to the mirror and they have switched to fluorescent lighting which isn't very bright. Not to get into too much detail but I have some hardware behind my front teeth that makes flossing difficult unless I can see myself very clearly in the mirror.

Some resorts have full length mirrors that you can stand right in front of so that's what I do. That's not possible at all of the resorts so I bought a small lighted mirror that I keep in my Owner's Locker.

Some of the deluxe resorts at WDW have magnifying mirrors in the bathroom. I wish they had put them in the master bathrooms at the DVC resorts.

I had always had this problem in the past but just returned from BLT (#7842) and one of the first things I noticed was the improved (i.e. brighter) bathroom lighting.

Don't know if I just got lucky or if they have finally heard the complaints and are starting to install higher wattage bulbs as the old ones burn out? :confused3

Now if we could just get them to install the wall mounted make up mirrors (like the ones in CR) I would be happy. At 5'4" that round mirror is just too high & too far away from the edge of the counter for me

This was my issue. I'm 5'1. Luckily, I don't wear makeup and only use the mirror when I straighten my hair, but ended up putting something on the floor that I could stand on so I was higher up :lmao:

I know the Owner's Locker shopping list for our next trip includes "lighted mirror", courtesy of my wife. We only stay at BCV, so it must be an issue there as well.

I absolutely adored staying at BLT but I have to agree that the lighting was really dim in the bathrooms. I don't wear much make-up and especially at WDW in September when it would just melt off anyway so applying make-up wasn't really an issue. But I just felt I couldn't see very well. And I'm short too so that was an issue also :lmao: But I'll gladly stay there again!

I buy these little round magnifying mirrors at Target or Walmart. They would be by the hair/make up section. They have suction cups that adhere to the mirror. I am really nearsighted so I use it at home and I have one at work, and I take one when I travel. And I stick it on the full length mirror which is usually in better lighting.
