BLT Questions: Check In/Magical Express/Room Charges

Hello!

We are heading down to BLT next weekend for our first stay there. We are sharing a Grand Villa with another family. We will be arriving at different times; we will have a car and they are using Disney's Magical Express. Since this is our first visit to BLT and we've never used Magical Express, I have a few questions I'm hoping you can help me with.

1. I understand check-in is at the Contemporary. Does that also mean that Magical Express will drop our friends off there and not at the BLT building?

2. If we are not in the room when their luggage is delivered from Magical Express, do they leave the luggage in the room or do they leave it at Bell Services?

3. For room charges, do they still only allow one credit card to be on file for use with all room cards that allow charging? (I seem to remember that was the case from several years ago when we last shared a villa.) If that is the case, at check-out can we have them split the bill so that each family can pay for their charges using their own credit card?

Yes, all CR guests will be dropped off at the CR main entrance. The Bell Staff will be happy to assist getting things taken to the villa.

2. If we are not in the room when their luggage is delivered from Magical Express, do they leave the luggage in the room or do they leave it at Bell Services?

DME will deliver luggage to the villa. It may take several hours after they arrive, so they should have a carry-on with essentials with them.

3. For room charges, do they still only allow one credit card to be on file for use with all room cards that allow charging? (I seem to remember that was the case from several years ago when we last shared a villa.) If that is the case, at check-out can we have them split the bill so that each family can pay for their charges using their own credit card?

Sometime this year, DVC plans to change the policy to allow multiple credit cards, but until that begins you can go the desk the night before and they will provide a printout of charges based on room key #. You can then pay using multiple credit cards.

Yes. There is no way to check in at the BLT building.

2. If we are not in the room when their luggage is delivered from Magical Express, do they leave the luggage in the room or do they leave it at Bell Services?
The luggage is delivered to your room Tips are included with ME for the trip from MCO to your room.

Yes, only one credit card per room. Charges are identified on the bill by the key that authorized them. You may go to the front desk (in the CR) at any time to pay for the charges. Keep in mind that every time the bill reaches $1500, it is processed using the credit card on file. You'll need to go to the front desk early on your last evening to avoid having them process the charges - you can't wait until check out if you want to split the charges or use a different credit car than the one on file.

IMO, it is easier to just have your family's credit card on file and then ask that the other family's keys do not have charging privileges. They can use their own credit card to pay for anything they need to charge along the way. Up to you as the member to decide.
 

Just a tip about DME putting your luggage in your room....DO NOT PUT YOUR DO NOT DISTURB SIGN OUT!

Our kids put our sign out and I never even realized it. We returned to our resort after midnight to find no bags...they said they couldn't deliver them because we had the do not disturb sign out!!!!! I felt bad having bell services bring our stuff up so late at night.
