BLT question

I just answered this on the other thread. Yes, you can. Since you are staying at BLT, you can use both BLT and CR pools.

Some people may know that's the name but not sure if they can use both pools if staying at BLT. We were unaware of this the first time we stayed at BLT in June 2010. Then the CM checking us in told us we could use both pools.

Not only that, but as a DVC guest you are allowed to pool hop to the other resorts (unless its a black out date).

while most people don't use this perk, it does work quite well at the other monorail resorts. If you wish to swim in the volcano pool at the Polynesian or either of the big pools at the Grand floridian, you can hop on the monorail and use the pool area restroom facilities/changing room facilities, etc.

But no hopping to Stormalong Bay at BC/YC or any of the quiet pools at BC/YC/BCV, or either of the two pools at AKV.

Not that I would pool hop anyway as I think it takes up too much of my precious vacation time traveling, but I was under the assumption you had to be a physical DVC member to pool hop?

As was posted, you can use the Contemporary pools. I just wanted to add that we stayed at BLT this past summer and loved their pool. It has a zippy slide, activities, always found chairs, all round great time! Don't forget you are also steps away from Sammy Duvals water sports. My kids love the lake. We have rented the little speedboats, a waverunner, parasailed and done a fishing excursion. Enjoy BLT!

Exactly. It's a member perk or for any guests staying with the member. But if someone "rent points", they are not entitled to the pool hopping perk. Or any of the special DVC perks for that matter.

That's what I thought. Because technically you would think that anyone staying at BLT or any other DVC are guests of that resort. The words "DVC Guest" kind of threw me off a bit.

I really like both the BLT pool and the CR pool. The problem is that neither one is perfect and both have one glaring negative each.

The BLT pool is sited poorly and is often in complete shade later in the day. If the temperature is borderline, that makes the pool unusable sometimes.

The CR pool is almost always in direct sunlight, which is awesome, but doesn't have zero entry. It blows my mind that the pool was renovated fairly recently and they didn't add a zero entry section to it. ARGH!
