Did anyone spend time at BLT or the Contemporary during the storm shutdown?
I read that the Boardwalk offered buffet meals there and was wondering if the same was done at BLT.
Thanks

I was at BLT but I don't think anything special has been done.
They knocked on the door asking to put the patio furniture in the room, as a precaution against wind, that's all I've experienced. There was a bit of wind, some rain, but really I wouldn't have been able to distinguish it from any Florida storm.

My guess would have been no since they don't have a kitchen in the BLT building, but the BW does.

I thought they might have used a conference room in the Contemporary for the DVC and hotel guests.

A special buffet was offered at the Contemporary. It was a breakfast from 8am to 12pm at Chef Mickeys. Cost was $12.99

Yeah. You have to consider the layout. During the storm, people were asked to stay inside. No way to get food over to BLT other than cold box lunches.

That didn’t happen to us. No one ever suggested we should stay inside the resort and on the public display board giving updates this was never featured. We were at the result in the build up to the storm and are still here.

I know the request was made at other resorts.

The reason I asked was a few years ago we were at OKW during a hurricane. We had not prepared for it because we didn’t have our children or grandchildren with us. It was an eat out whenever or wherever we wanted. Usually the fridge is full and we have more than enough food for days. We had no way to shop since the roads were off limits when we realized our mistake. The only thing offered was a bag lunch which was awful. We are going next fall with 4 grandkids and our kids. I can certainly prepare in case of a storm but wondered which resorts had the capability to provide meals to guests.

I think I saw there was also was a buffet dinner at Chef Mickeys for $15.

BLT guests were not restricted to their rooms or the building.
