I thought it was in the BLT POS that 10% of the rooms would be SV rooms. Am I correct? And, if so, wouldn't some previously categorized SV rooms have to be recategorized in 2013 to offset the TPV rooms that are now SV?

What am I missing?

from what I have heard, 10 formerly TPV rooms are now SV. Sounded like floors 3 & 4 became standard view instead of TP.

While I don't like to see the pts go up for TPV, I would have been ticked if I paid all those pts and received a room on the 3 or 4th floor. Those never should have been TP to begin with.

I would be annoyed too if I used the points and got the 3rd floor. As cool as it sounds, the ONLY way I will book TP view is if I had points that were not going to be able to be used. We plan on Nov one year, skip the next, and summer the following year with the previous year banked. So those Nov trips MUST use up all the points for that year, as banking those will not help us. If we find that we are going to be left with extra, then we will book the TP view so we don't lose them. I'd rather borrow a few points from the next year, rather than lose a few from the previous year. Unused points = wasted $

I'd have to read it, which I haven't done and haven't looked at BWV's POS in years, but... I would assume it guarantees a minimum of 10%, establishes the baseline original split is 10% and/or allows for a threshold of change.

That being said, for people booking the TV in 2012 who get the 3rd/4th floor, how pissed would you be knowing that those rooms are booked for significantly less points soon? It is what it is, but this transition period on a change like that really stinks for some.

We have TV in December. Hopefully we get our high floor request so I don't have to feel like I got taken more than I already would have at or under the monorail/tree line.

BLT's Master Declaration of Condominium does not specify the number of Vacation Homes by view category. Making such changes is not unprecedented: For 2011, DVCMC reclassified some AKV villas from Savanna View to Standard View.

How did they shift the points then (on a weekly basis) for standard/value that year?

On another positive, the chance of ppl booking std AND being able to get some TP view has significantly increased!

I'm a little annoyed that it went up, but the 1br weren't as affected. I also don't like that the precedent it has set, when the marketing explains that what goes up must come down, and there were some benefits as well overall. A lot stayed the same,

Overall I'm happy that we can start planning the year without having an estimate. Would have been nice to commit till 2014 like when they came out with 11&12.

Happy planning time everyone!

In order to keep things together, we invite you to continue your discussion about the 2013 point changes in this thread

Thank you!
