BLT negatives?

I will reiterate the transportation concern: unless you're traveling to MK or another monorail resort, it really does take FOREVER to get anywhere. The buses to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom are shared with the GF and Poly, and the monorail to EPCOT takes longer than a bus would (because of having to transfer, and having to take the resort loop monorail the wrong way around seven seas lagoon on the return trip).

Less of an issue for those driving everywhere, obviously.

Our only other complaints were the studio size and lack of a full-length mirror.
Do you think some of these problems could be solved by using the MK transportation, which is only a few feet away?

I'd never thought about the monorail hassle, but it would be easy to take the express and then walk to the Contemporary. Likewise, doesn't the MK usually have pretty good bus service to the AK and MGM? Just a thought.

The 2 best ways to take care of the transportation hassle: renting a car/ getting a taxi.
I base my decision on the price of renting. Sometimes, it costs almost as much to rent as having a car service bring us and then use cabs. If we don't rent, we ALWAYS take a cab for rope drop. Sometimes, depending upon the time of day, how tired we are, or if we have an evening ADR, we take the bus back to the resort- it doesn't happen often though.

I think cabs are a great resource, especially from BWV. Why spend thousands of dollars on a vacation and then miss rope drop because you were too cheap to spend $15 on a cab?

A rental car seems a pretty bad bet to me for BLT. The transportation options from BLT are really quite good, and driving is one of the biggest hassles imaginable. Once you drive you have to park, which is a big hassle, then you have to walk to the park, which is a big hassle, then you have to find your car, which is a big hassle, then you have to drive back, which is a big hassle, then you have to park again, which is even more hassle.

Or you can just take the Disney transportation when it's efficient or a cab when it isn't. No hassle.

This, of course, assumes you consider driving at WDW a hassle. :) Some definitely do not. (some=me for instance!)
