BLT MK view room...REALLY MK view?

Here's the view from what is the second worst MK view studio. It is located on the 4th floor:

Depending on the recategorization it either won't be part of MK view any more or it will probably become the worst MK view. Currently the studio below it is also MK view and is what I would call the worst MK view studio.

So you can see the MK from all the MK rooms but not all views are created equal.

I've had that view--all parking lot, Contemporary, and underside of the monorail. We had to lean over the balcony rail to see fireworks and even then the fireworks on the far right were cut off. Never again are we putting out points for a theme park view.

Our view from our first BLT Theme park view studio....can't remember which floor it was, maybe 12??

This is the view from our lake view studio in Dec....8th floor if I remember correctly. Probably my favorite area...lake to one side, MK to the other.

I'll admit, BLT theme park views can be a bit of a gamble (but it's one I'm willing to take). We got theme park view only 2x on points. Many times I call only "Lake view" is available. I've stayed at BLT 4x (2 theme park and 2 lake).

Here are pics of our two theme park views :

I wish the OP much luck (and pixie dust) in getting a great view !

We have stayed at BLT twice both times in a 2 bedroom. The first time we had a "theme park view" and were on the 8th floor the first room next to the elevators (the walkway elevators). I thought the view was not worth it and was disappointed. We really had a view of the Contemporary and the monorail. We went again over Thanksgiving and had a Lake view. My only request was high floor. We had a wonderful view of the Magic Kingdom. Honestly, I thought it was better than our official "theme park view" room. We were on the 14th floor this time, an even numbered room. It was the very last room at the end of the hallway. I would never use points for a theme park view again.

We had a 2 bedroom on a high floor, can't remember what floor, but also requested even number and booked lake view.
Our room was also the last on the hallway.
We had a great lakeview and a wonderful MK view. The room next to ours had to be a MK view since I'm not sure it would be considered Lake view since we were the last room in the hallway. We heard the music and the train at MK and saw the fireworks at night.
I rather look out at the lake then the parking lot. The TPV is a terrible view and I wouldn't use points for it. Ever.

I can't figure out how to insert our photo of our view, but we paid 45pts per night for a one bedroom TPV and had the same view as the picture above but add a support bar in our sight line. The room was 3rd floor, 7636. I had requested 7th floor or higher and then when we checked in we were told that our room was the only one available. There are many places to see the view from the hotel and I wouldn't spend the points again. We booked last minute and that's why we took the only room left.

And until this is corrected in 2013, I am very leary of doing online checkin. When we did TPV for our first trip home, it was a split stay - 2days BCV then TPV @ BLT. When it was time to move, DH took the bus over to check in with our carry ons, and I walked with the boys through Epcot so they could ride the monorail over. DH calls and is excited that the room is ready - I said what room is it - 7420. Thanks to all the wonderful people here, I knew this was not going to work. Since this was our 1st trip and we used all those points, I made him go back and demand another room. Long story short, we got moved to the 8th floor later in the day, even though they never texted us that the room was ready. It was perfect. I've put in my requests already, but I'm very cautious about online check in as I don't want to get stuck on the 4th floor.

FWIW, I'd be perfectly happy in SV or LV, but DH is insistant upon TPV. :sad2:
I'll get off my soapbox and quit the ranting :rotfl:

that is why request standard view - of course also don't like heights - standard view only goes to the 5th floor.
