BLT marathon weekend?

What are my chances for booking BLT (any studio) for marathon weekend 7 mos out?

I am booked at AKL already but woudl like to get to BLT so I can just hop the monorail to get to the race.

Are you talking about the weekend that is the end of food and wine, Veterans Day weekend, and the end of Jersey week in Nov? It's not impossible but I can guarantee it will involve the wait list. As a BLT owner that went last Nov for that time, I did not book exactly at 11 months and I needed to wait list the Fri and Sat nights. They came through, but my request was put in 10 months out and didn't go through until about 6 months......of course that was a 2 br.

We got BLT at 7 months for marathon this year. However, at the 7 month window we only got 1 night (Thursday). We waitlisted Friday and Saturday. I checked online twice a day for those 2 nights and snagged them within a week of going on the waitlist.

If you mean marathon weekend in Jan 2014, be aware BLT, other than anything standard view and a Theme Park view studio, was open at 7 months out for 2013 for the Thurs to Mon of the weekend.

Not sure if you knew that the start is right across the street from OKW - this was awesome disboard advice that my DH used and got to sleep an extra 90 minutes. I drove him to the entrance of the road and he just walked over to his corral.

I am talking about Jan marathon weekend.
we on't have a car and my wife will want to sleep in a bit and it will be easy for her to walk to MK to watch me run through the castle. I will look into OKW as well. Not looking for a lake or park view. Just a basic "value" or standard room.

You won't get standard view room at BLT at seven months out for the marathon. You might get lake view if you try exactly at seven months out. We tried to switch to a one bedroom at BLT by waitlisting about five months out for the marathon and our waitlist never came through. A one bedroom might be easier to get than a studio.

Just one word of caution about the sleeping in. Once the runners start down the road you have to cross to get to MK from BLT, you are no longer allowed to cross that road. So, even if you're not at the front of the pack, she still needs to be at MK before the fastest runners. MK was pretty packed, and we learned about crossing the street the hard way. I was in MK with my kids and watched DH run by. Then, I thought we would walk back to the Contemporary but we weren't allowed to cross that street. We ended up taking the monorail to Epcot and watching DH cross the finish line, so it worked out fine, just something to be aware of.

Just an fyi - we did blt for 1/14 marathon weekend at exactly 11 months out and were only able to get one LV studio for our group when we needed two, so we did a two bedroom lockoff. so no standards left at all and sounds like no lv left either.

We couldn't get any view studio at BLT for the entire Marathon Weekend at 7 months last year.

I would not recommend the OKW "walk" method. Disney keeps trying to shut it down and when they do you could be in real trouble if you waited too late. I had some friends who got a HUGE hassle this year for the half by the local cops. It was so bad that for the Marathon they took the bus ( They were doing the Goofy)

They really don't want you doing that walk and there is a reason. That road is dark, there are buses and trucks running around etc... and there are NO sidewalks.
