BLT in October...7 month availability question

Thanks to learning more on these boards, we are going to do a split trip in October at our home (AKV) resort and also try and get 3 nights at BLT on 10/13 - 10/16.

Although I looked at the availability forum, I was not sure how accurate it is in terms of people reporting.

1. When trying to look for availability, is the regular Disney website (i.e. non-DVC website) a good indicator of room availability? (For example, you can book more than 7 months out via traditional means, but not via DVC.) Or do they have separate inventory?

2. Maybe this is too much to ask, but is BLT usually booked in October due to Wine and Food @ Epcot? (If any BLT members wouldn't mind looking at a 2 Bedroom availability during that time, would be greatly appreciated! If not, no big deal, will just have to wait a few more weeks to book online.)

It appears that there are 2 bedroom accommodations with lake view and theme park views available...no standard views...hope this helps
I will be there the same time....starting in AKV in a 1 bedroom..then over to BLT for a 1 bedroom... both of these resorts are my "home resorts"

Last time I checked, the availabilty boards were locked. So they are only accurate up to when they are locked. I just checked the website (I'm a BLT owner) and they have a 2br SV available for Saturday the 13th only, and LV is available right now for all 3 nights. Good luck.

They were never good for seeing what was available, only what was not available. And even then, they were only as good as the information that was entered.

And the regular Disney website has nothing to do with what is available for points from DVC. Anytime a member trades out their points for a non-DVC Disney vacation, the villas that those points represent are given over to Disney to sell so DVC can pay for that stay.

We were able to book a 2 bedroom LV for the entire second week of October last year at the 7 month mark. SV was not available. Our week included Columbus Day weekend, so I was thrilled that we were able to get LV. I am guessing you will be able to get LV for your trip. Good luck!
