Anyone have any thoughts on my chances? Looking at early December 2022, if that makes a difference.

First week of December is the highest DVC demand week of the year at WDW. Second week of December is third highest (Christmas week is second). The chances of getting a BLT GV at 7 months out during early December are extremely low.

Well, darn. Will have to find a plan B.

Book a GV at your home resort at 11 months (assuming that your home resort has GVs). If something at another resort is available at 7 months you can always change but at least you will have something.

Ya you are looking at early December so really the only good option is booking your home resort. Then as you get closer to 7 months checks to see if anything is open. Followed by at 7 months putting in a waitlist for whatever you decide (room categories with high number of rooms are more likely to free up so that would not exactly be GVs).

That said, SSR has 36 GVs across two categories, making it the resort richest in GV inventory. OKW has 27 total, and the key is to not insist on "Close to HH," since that category is only 2-3 of the total units. However, because OKW is such a bargain for GV it also can be rough at 7 months in December.

If I were to hope to stitch together a GV for December by booking what was available, and waitlisting missing days, I'd be looking at Saratoga.

And BLT has 14. So not many at all. Its better than BWVs 7 which are near impossible to get at seven months year round.

For early Dec, an OKW GV is highly unlikely at 7-months out, e.g., before May 1, 2019, the entire month of Dec 2019 in the OKW GV's was already booked full except for two days. For 2021, all OKW GV's were full for all of the first two weeks of Dec before May 1, 2021. Chances are better at SSR, but even its GVs have had issues the first two weeks of Dec since about 2017, with standard GVs missing four to six nights a week before 7-months out for first two weeks of Dec, and preferred missing 2-4 nights (the only exception was 2020, when many rooms not usually open were still open in Dec).

Yeah, that's why I was saying "stitch together." It will be painful and ugly to assemble, but the odds are best at SSR. Book what's not missing, waitlist, stalk. Cry. Stress. Have a backup plan.
