BLT Grand Villa questions

I know that the top floor of the BLT Grand Villa has it's own entrance door in addition to the one on the first floor. My understanding is that the second entrance door opens onto the same floor as the Top of the World Lounge and that you can go out that door and down the hall and there you are.

I am wondering if the room keys for the Grand Villas get you access on the elevators that take you to floor where the second entrance door is. I know a CM has to let give access to guests going to the Top of the World lounge, but can Guests get to that floor on their own?

I ask because we will have young adults with us that will probably hit Jelly Rolls, etc. and be coming in late, and I was wondering if they would be able to get back to their bedrooms via that top floor of the Grand Villa or will they still need to use the main door on the first floor?

The top entrance is only on the first floor for some of the grand villas... not all of them. I think only the lake view grand villas have the 2nd floor access to TOW. I don't believe the MK view villas have the 2nd floor access to TOW.

As to your original question, I don't know. I would imagine the keys would get you access to the 16th floor.

I didn't know it was only in some of the GVs, but we hope to have a Lake View booked, so I guess that means we would have the second floor access.

Nice day we are having in Raleigh today, isn't it?

Thanks for the link, and I do see where the LV GVs are, do you by chance know about the elevator options. Can a LV GV Guest get to the 16th floor with their room key?

My daughter stayed in a 1 bedroom villa on the 16th floor and had to use her room key in the elevator to get to her room, she was down the hall from TOWL, I would assume it is the same.

We were in a GV at BLT over Christmas - we could exit to the 16th floor from the upstairs level, but our keys did not work to get in that door. In fact, the guys delivering our luggage warned us to be careful that we did not go out those doors and get locked out, as our keys would not work on the upstairs doors.

I wonder why that is? Wouldn't you think they could make both doors work with the same room key?

I.m sure they could - no idea why they don't. Didn't make any sense to me (of course, my "kids" had to try the keys anyway..sure enough - didn't work!
