We are staying at our newest Disney home in May.
Any tips or advice for staying at BLT from anyone who has stayed there...
We will be in a studio.
I was wondering about elevator wait times in disney rush hour etc...

Sorry, I don't have any info to share but I am subbing, as we are also staying at BLT for the 1st time in a studio in May.

Bring on the tips!!

We just stayed in a studio this past weekend. It was our very first stay at BLT and we LOVED it. Can't wait to go back!

The elevators were fine and we never had a wait at all.

Our room was in terrific condition, as we would have expected of course. We had read reports of some of the rooms already showing wear, but ours looked new.

The bed was very comfy; I am missing it. The bathroom door slides instead of opening like a door on hinges. We found the door to be kind of heavy and had a hard time getting used to that.

The bus service is shared with BLT/CR, the Poly and the Grand Floridian. You will have to factor in that time when you are heading out.

Overall, the resort is GORGEOUS. The Top of the World Lounge is a spectacular place to watch Wishes. There are a few appetizers on the menu and they are very good for a light snack.

I hope my little bit of info helps. Have a great trip!

The water pressure in the shower was really good.

We were there in December; it was crowded but we never had any issues with the elevator at all. Walk times from the elevator were very short compared to BWV. We stayed in a dedicated 2 BR.The bathroom door situation is, in my opinion, awful. I felt very uncomfortable using the hallway bathroom, because you could see, minimally, but still, through the crack. Locks would I think tighten the fit to the frame and eliminate the problem. Counters in the bathroom are HIGH. We're short and it was hard to brush our teeth lol. Top of the World was nice but having to wait to be escorted up there is a pain. I found the furniture somewhat uncomfortable in general, except the bed, which was fine. The walk to and from the MK is ok but not nearly as nice as the walk from Epcot to the BWV. We own at BWV and BLT and expected to LOVE BLT. We didn't. different strokes for different folks, we're just BW people.

Loved BLT - ability to walk to MK is a must - don't even waste your time waiting for the monorail.

If you have small kids the play room is cool - my kids liked it.

The rooms are nice - the bathrooms were an issue with the sliding door. Not because people can see in (I haven't gone to the bathroom by myself in years :rotfl:) more an issue with the little kids (toddler - about 4) sliding them over their toes and on fingers. Happened a few times when we were there.

The pool is fun and being able to walk to the CR pools was fun. Boat to WL and FW was a lot of fun also.

Getting food from the CR to our room was a bit of a pain but overall really liked it and was happy I bought into this resort.

Go to the TOWL at least once. Great view

Just returned from a trip.
Like the previous poster, we found that we are boardwalk people, and really enjoyed staying at AKV-jambo as well. That being said, we thought that the contemporary cafe was very convienent. It was a quick elevator ride followed by a walk across the bridge. It was great being able to walk to the MK. The monorail rides to the Poly for dinner worked out well too. We had one issue getting from epcot back via the monorail due to some service issues on one of the lines, but we thought that they were convienent as well.
We missed the themeing, but found that the location was great for us.

We spent last week in a studio at BLT (#7238). Checked in at noon and our room was ready. We never had an issue with the elevators - they are pretty fast. Our room was showing some wear already (a v-shaped chip out of the TV stand for one). Nothing major though, just the usual wear and tear. The decor is quite nice but the whole bathroom sink and mirror in the kitchen was not to our liking. Remember to always take your key with you - you need it at every entrance to the Towers. We used the laundry room - one HE washer and 2 regular, plus 6 dryers. We didn't have to wait to use it, but it became crowded after we started. I think they could have put in a second laundry room or at least made this one a little bigger. Hope you have a wonderful time!

A couple tips...

The BLT pool will be in the shade in the afternoon/evening. If you have cooler weather or want to be in the sun more, go to the CR pool.

There are various activities at the larger CR pool/marina area (night time outdoor movie, firepit/campfire, pirates & princess cruise, water play area, etc).

If you like Dole Whips, when coming back from Epcot via the monorail, it's very tempting to get off at the Poly for a self serve one.

Have a great trip!

We stayed at BLT the first week of March in an MK studio (8028). Loved it and we're looking forward to our next stay in a 1 BR this fall.

We had an early 8:00 AM breakfast at Ohanas one morning. We were surprised when we went to the monorail entrance at 7:30 am and it was closed. It opened a few minutes later. Then we had to wait until an inspection was completed before the monorail went into operational mode. We still got to Ohanas on time for breakfast. There was a light rain that morning and the monorails seemed to stop and start and there were several delays that day only.

The only time we ever saw crowded elevators was in the mornings when people were checking out and others were heading out for rope drops. Even with the addition of luggage or luggage carts the wait for the next elevator was very short. I doubt if we ever waited more than 2 minutes.

If you don't have an MK view and don't feel like going up to TOTW lounge to see wishes, you can see it from the elevator lobbies, especially the north elevator lobby as it has a more direct view of the castle. The higher the floor the better the view.

Although the arrangement of the combined bathroom vanity and kitchenette is unique, I still cannot get over how much storage space there is in that room.

We were a little surprised that there were only three washers. But with six dryers the washers became available fairly quickly. It was 30 minutes to wash a load and you could time the dryers to the number of minutes you desired. Our clothes, including jeans, were always dry within 40 minutes.
