BLT fireworks July 3 and 4

This morning I snagged a BLT 2 bedroom preferred view room for July 3-July 5. I have never been to WDW for 4th of July and don't know what to expect for fireworks viewing. Am I remembering correctly that Top of the World Lounge/Villains Lair will be open just to those staying at BLT on points with DVC direct benefits (all criteria we meet). Has anyone done this viewing and is it a madhouse? How early do you need to get there etc? Thanks!

I think all that is the case for July 3 and 4. Not sure if thing have changed since they started doing the dining / party. I would shot for at 45 minutes before fireworks or longer. Last time we did July 4th we had theme park view so did not go to the lounge
Hopefully someone with more immediate experience will give you better advice for timing.

I spent quite some time on the phone with member services today to get more details about the 4th because I had seen in some years they still had the paid event and the lounge was closed to everyone else. So far Disney has not announced anything for the 3rd and the 4th. It says "blocked" to the staff at DVC. The CM I spoke with forwarded me on to a manager, who called BLT staff and there is still no word if there will be a paid event vs only allowing DVC members staying on points up to the lounge on July 4 this year. The manager double checked and said that there are 0 reservations for July 3 or 4 for any lounge event so it is not the case of the event already being sold out. I guess I need to call back daily? Does anyone happen to know what they did in 2024? TIA!

I would think that if they were going to have an event it would have been announced by now. I think one big selling point for BLT was being able to watch high demand fireworks from the top of the world. I doubt they would completely block it off for those nights.

There's a big difference in availability for the lounge versus the deck. We've been told the deck holds around 500 guests, and we've always been able to get up there on July 3, 4, Dec 30, and Dec. 31 when staying at BLT (we bought direct and it's one of our home resorts) on points. We generally go up 30-45 minutes before the show, and they usually have a small cash bar set up outside on the deck.

Jumping on this thread to ask- if we are staying at BLT on resale points but also own enough direct points for the member perks, would we qualify to go up to the lounge?
