We just came came from the Royal Pacific Resort.

They also had the 1 family per elevator rule, but they had 12 total elevators at the resort. So the wait wasn't long at all.

How may elevators are there at BLT. This could be a deciding factor on whether or not we keep are reservation.

There was not a wait when we were there. I think there are 2 bays, 4 elevators each? We only rode it to get to the bridge to Contemporary. Couldn't you just request a 1'st floor room?

Edit after some Googling; 2 bays of 3 elevators each. Go to the bay opposite the bridge if you don't want to wait (we never did though).

Not necessarily. There are 5 Standard lock-offs and 3 Lake View lock-offs. So it's a request with tough odds overall, and not something that can be guaranteed. (They're also the worst of the Lake View units, honestly.)

Thank you. We have a 1-bedroom lake view right now.

Our home resort is OKW, so 3-4 flights isn’t an issue. Being higher up would be.

Might switch to Boardwalk.

There are fewer elevators at BWV as they only have the main set of 3

Royal Pacific has more than 1000 rooms.

Bay Lake Tower has 300-400 rooms depending on how the lockoffs are divided.

And when we were at BWV in July & Sept one elevator was broken...so we always waited for an elevator there!
We stayed at BLT Thanksgiving week and I would say we waited 25% of the time but not usually for long.

With social distancing and 1 party per elevator, how do elevators work on the way down? Do they stop at each floor that presses button and you just don’t get in if another party is already on or have they been reprogrammed to not stop after first pick up?

We were at BLT over Halloween no issues with elevators (we were 11th floor) there are two banks of elevators with 3 elevators each.

We’re headed there in June, hopefully it won’t be to bad.

They stop and if people are already in the elevator you don't get on.

Unless they are people that just don’t care about the virus. We had numerous instances of people trying to get into the elevator with us at BLT. We either had to physically block the door, or in 2 instances actually get out of the elevator at a random floor because people were so insistent on getting in our elevator with us. They point to the sign that says “1 party or 4 people total” and because it was either just me (going to get luggage) or me and DW, they think they can get in with us and up the total to 4.

They should switch the rule to just 1 party. That not only avoids confusion but accommodates families of 5-6 people who are not putting each other at risk by riding in an elevator as they already spend all their time together.

I think that according to the sign if there are 2 people in an elevator two more can get it. (At least that is how I read it) I don't like that and we always wait for an empty one. Thankfully only one time at BLT did a stranger get in the elevator when it was just me and my son. He was a teenager and he was not very courteous...he actually stood on top of my son! My son had to slip from between him and the wall so he could relocate to another part of the elevator. Thankfully we were only going one more floor.

Yeah that is the way it reads, but I definitely don’t want to be in an elevator with anyone other than my wife. That’s why we got out of the elevator if someone got in with us. I would never get in someone else’s elevator. It’s why we won’t stay at BLT again until after the pandemic. OKW for us!

We stayed for a week at BLT last month and only had to wait maybe twice. It was rare to have anyone waiting with us or already on it when it arrived. People were courteous if so.

We were at Kidani Village two weeks ago and never saw another person in the elevators that we used.
