BLT DVC announced

Just wondering,
when you compared pts why did you compare a AKV Savanna View to a BLT Standard View. Wouldn't it be Standard/Standard, Savanna View/Lake View, Concierge/Mk View.
Without a look at point charts it's tough to get an idea of how much of a premium BLT will be.

The comparison I am making is based on our personal preference. In retrospect, I guess I should have compared it to the Lake View instead of the Standard View. But this was the room type I was planning on getting.

Don't get me wrong, I think your example is how it will be compared. But I think there are other variables in play. In terms of locations (and this is very important for many) BLT is far better and more convenient than AKV and so the points should reflect this. If it was all about the rooms and experience, I wouldn't even consider BLT. I do not like the theming of the room. I guess I expected it since it goes well with the theming of the Contemporary. I think a lot of people like the Contemporary, but I believe the decor and theme is it's biggest drawback. I wasn't too thrilled with the idea that it will be DVC, because, (JMO) it doesn't fit into the home away from home theme. It's very futuristic and "cold" for my taste.

But, I am glad so many like it. It will definitely ease the demand for the other difficult to book resorts.;)

Wow those are some pretty high points....little too rich for me.

In our case, it actually works well. Since we stay for 14 nights, it has 4 weekend stays and since they lowered the points on the weekends, it worked out to be the similar. For the Magic Season, 14 nights in a 1 bedroom totals 540 pts for BCV and it is that same for the Standard View 1 bed BLT.
(They decreased each weekend day by 5 pts and increased each weekday by 2 pts with, for us resulted in the same amount.)

I do believe that for those who stay Sun-Thurs nights, they will notice a big change. For my example, they are paying 10 pts more for BLT standard 1bed than a BCV 1 bd.

I guess, it all depends on how you vacation.

We're thinking of adding BLT and we just closed. LoL. But only 50 points, just enough for 4 nights during the low season. I'm going to wait a bit, though.
